Valkyria flopped as a remaster? Most of these games havent flopped, they were cheaper to produce unlike the Xbox JPRGs you have listed

Remaster or not, 0.28m is poor. It's selling next to nothing in 2017
Proof that the 360 games were more expensive to make? Because development costs are RISING with each generation.

It is awkward, remasters almost never sell the same like the original did, it like saying Halo MCC bombed because it maybe sold 15% or less than what the original four games did :s. FFXII no surprise will probably sell less than the remaster...

Well you should look into the development history of games like Blue Dragon/LO. They had to open a new studio, hired closed to 150 staff members and worked more than three years on LO. That is a team size for games like FF/DQ/KH. A 40-50 million budget for LO would not be that far fetched and yeah if you sell less than a million it probably not made much profit or no profit at all.

So much BS about development cost with these JRPGs, it makes me laugh. Like Angelus said these consoles are nearly identical and porting them over would cost next to nothing. At this point it's either Sony money hatting games to stay on PS, or laziness. I'm sure with how similar they are even if they bombed on Xbox they would make back more money than lose it just because of the similarities in the x86 structure.

This doesn't make any sense. They will gain nothing from it. The only recent JRPG that is probably money-hatted by Sony is Persona 5. Because every mainline game in this series was PS-exclusive. As I've stated before the problem is not in porting the game to Xbox but to publish it for the platform. MS doesn't seem to have a good relationship with publishers this gen.

I want them to add more games to Arena.

300k is a lot for a PC port that costed next to nothing to devolope. Development cost is only rising who wants to make AAA games with graphics above last gen. How can you compare World of Final Fantasy with something like the Last Remnant?

It is a known fact that porting costs are low this generation, don't know why some people are still trying to say that they are high. Heck, we had an indie dev list the full cost breakdown of his XB1 port, and it was only like $5,000 and it took him just a couple of weeks to do the port. Now of course a AA would cost more than that and take longer, but I find it hard to believe that a AA JRPG would cost more than $300,000 to port.

Let's say it takes 5 devs and 10 QA testers 3 months to do an XB1 port of a AA JRPG. The average pay for game QA testers is like $30,000 a year I think, so 1/4th of that is $7,500 x 10 people so $75,000. The average pay for game developers is like $60,000 a year I think, so 1/4th of that is $15,000 x 5 devs so $75,000. So that's $150,000 so far. Add on the costs of getting the game rated by ESRB/PEGI/USK/etc. and fees MS charges, we're looking at probably less than $200,000 total.

At that price, the game would make a profit on like 10k sales, and chances are most of these AA JRPG's would sell at least 50k, some like Persona and Nier would surely do over 100k on XB1, maybe even over 200k.

Finally man of reason

I vote State of Decay 2.

Proud to be a Californian.

Destiny 2 gets my vote. I want to see more stuff for SoD2.

40-50m for an exclusive JRPG?
Hell that's the amount Ubisoft spends for their AAA multiplats.
Doesn't matter if the team size is as big as the FF or KH teams. FFXIII, FFXV and KH3 took/take more than 6 years each!
Doubt LO was more than 25m.

State of Decay gets the vote. I have absolutely zero interest in Destiny.

I'd vote for Destiny 2 if I had any faith whatsoever that Bungie made the full game this time for launch, instead of some half assed, rushed BS......but alas, I do not.

Just hearing the developer already talking about shit like "oh yes, we should be asking those questions, and finding answers as soon as possible, but I can't talk about our ideas right now because idk if they'll make it for launch" has my like lololol here were go again.

Fucking Activision can eat a dick. They've completely ruined Bungie
