Guys, how does regenerative shielding sound for an RPG, and with this, I mean shielding and not health, and definitely not whatever it was FFXV was trying to do?

Yeah, bosses get this too...

Annoying, I never played a RPG where it was fun especially with bosses.

I can see it being used for a player party as a sort of tanking mechanic, having a certain character jump in front and soaking up some damage while others hide in the back, and then you trade out places as shields go down. But there would need to be some kind of punish mechanic enemies can take advantage of if you overplay your hand, otherwise the game becomes too easy.

For enemies....I don't see the point in giving them such a mechanic. Any experienced RPG player who's been around the block knows to take out enemies one at a time, focus fire style, and everyone else will quickly catch on.....because who the hell wants to let enemies get their shields back. So basically, unless the enemies can hide behind others, or do some kind of tactical retreat, and re-engage....it's effectively nothing but extra health. And if you let the enemies do those things, there's a good chance you'll just annoy people, because fights are being arbitrarily drawn out for no good reason, other than "lol fuck you, look at my regenerative shields!"

You'd have to really nail it for it be a good idea

Nice to see Injustice 2 will be on sale. Hopefully it'll be at least down to 40

Feels like I already own 75% of these games lol.

Doubt I will get much. Trials of the Blood Dragon maybe if gets reduced by at least 65%.

Cities, Snake Pass etc. will probably be too new for a good deal.

I dont want remakes. They just split the community between the newest game and the remakes.

The newer games suck though, at least multiplayer-wise Besides, the CoD playerbase is more than large enough to be able to afford to split it.

IW is trash in terms of MP but AW and BO3 had good multiplayer untill supply drops became this big thing. From the MP gameplay on youtube WW2 looks really good.

As for the playerbase in January i tried getting into a match on IW and it took about 4min for the lobby to fill up.

Infinite Warfare is definitely trash, but I didn't care for Black Ops 3, Ghosts, or Advanced Warfare multiplayer either honestly. For me at least, the last good CoD multiplayer was Modern Warfare 3.

I'd say that Infinite Warfare is a special case playerbase wise, it's so bad that the CoD fanbase is either playing Black Ops 3 still, or playing CoD 4 Remastered. it's basically the only CoD game in the last decade to not have at least 100k players online at any given time of the day before the next CoD game releases. If World War 2 has decent multiplayer once again (so far it sounds like it's going to), it should have no problems maintaining a sizeable playerbase, even if Activision releases more remasters.

Yeah but prefer all the resources making older games go into the newer ones to make them better.

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds studio wants to add cross-play between PC and Xbox One
By Andy Chalk a day ago
It's fairly straightforward technically, but there are challenges.
Playerunknown's Battlegrounds is kind of a big thing around these parts, and it will likely become an even bigger thing when it comes to the Xbox One later this year. And at some point after that, executive producer Chang Han Kim told VG247, developer Bluehole hopes to let people on both platforms play together. But first, there are a few wrinkles to iron out.

"Cross network play between the PC and the console is definitely something we want to do down the road, and we don’t anticipate we’ll have any technical issues with that," Kim said.

"But… when you consider the competitive side of the game, I do feel that there’s a balance issue between controllers and keyboard and mouse. That’s what’s making it difficult for us to do right away. If we’re going to allow players to use controllers we need to have the aim assist added in and things like that. We’re not going to be supporting it right away, but it’s something we’d like to look into later."

The more the merrier, but I'm not sure what adding cross-platform play to PUBG would accomplish aside from creating headaches for its developers. Even with aim assist, controllers are at a distinct disadvantage when put up against mouse and keyboard, so the odds of an Xbox One player ever winning a round are really not good—and on the off-chance that it does happen, all credit (or blame, more likely) would go to the aim assist, which is clearly—so the angry forum post would no doubt go—out of whack and overpowered. No matter which way it goes, somebody ends up mad.

That said, it's not entirely unprecedented. The Coalition first tested, and then permanently added, cross-play to Gears of War 4 earlier this year. The online intermingling is limited to "Social Quickplay," while Core and Competitive play remain segregated to keep them "as closely matched and competitive as possible." But it's not unreasonable to think that PUBG could take the same approach as it is with its new Zombies mode to accomplish basically the same thing: Give players the option to select either cross-play or single-platform action, and then let them eat the consequences.

Fromt the list of games, I'm going to get Prey for sure. Most probably going to get these games if I see a very good discount:

Cities: Skyline ($15)
Dark Souls III ($15)
Ghost Recon: Wildlands ($20)
Mass Effect: Andromeda ($30)
Super Hot ($10)
The Evil Within ($10)

For some reason when i go to My Topics it shows the oldest posts. I read some and man there were some downright horrible biased attitudes on this website coming from all sides. Can't believe some made mod even.
