Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Splatoon: Nintendo why do you insist on bad ideas for great games?!

LOL no. I just popped game in and started playing. Didn't go through settings. haha

ok, so I'm still upset about the lack of 4 local.

So you're just now getting upset over something we've known for half a year? And really why are you getting upset? You were not forced to buy the game nor did it's news updates/marketing decieve you into thinking it had something it doesn't. The simple fact is not every game is going to have 4 player local multiplayer or any form of local play at all, and if you expect all of them to have it then all I can say is dat entitlement!

Yeah, dat entitlement!

Expects a game to be good. The nerve some people have.

Implying a game needs every feature ever to be good.

Ideally, I'd have lots of different Turf Wars sub-modes.

- online 4v4 (default)
- online 3v3v3v3 (or maybe just 2v2v2v2)
- local 1v1v1v1(v1)
and maybe more.

The thing is, the maps are designed around 2 teams, so they'd have to find a way to fit more teams or have specific maps for different modes. Either way, there should be more options, especially for local multiplayer.

What's good about this is it means that there's plenty of room for a sequel to expand and elaborate on Splatoon's foundation. As a franchise, it has room to grow.

To some extent, yes. I think it's a given we'll see multi-team and maybe free-for-all matches in future titles. However, it almost feels like they thought of stuff like this but left it out to have them in sequels as selling points.

The impression I got is more that they didn't initially envision Splatoon being as major a game as it became, so they designed it with more of a Captain Toad/Kirby and the Rainbow Curse level of content and budget in mind.

Keep white-knighting for Nintendo and maybe one day you'll be in the_dengle's signature.

Nah he probably hates me after our last conversation. :L

I really want wiimote + nunchuck support because it would be perfect for this game. Hopefully they will add wiimote support in an update. the 4 player local multiplayer and 4 local vs online people is also very important. again, it's possible they will those in the future, with cpu controlled inklings filling the empty spots on local multiplayer matches.

I was hoping some details would change in this regard as new stuff was being announced.

Its not entitlement, its seeing Nintendo as the world's best game develper and not accepting that they gimp out on features!

So you only have about 2 issues with the game? Seems like it didn`t do that bad in the end for a first game. Not bad.

I do agree that more local modes would have been good. Maybe they didn`t have time to implement it into the game, or have no plans to do so this time.

The main drive for the game is the MP, so they got that right at least.

Considering he is paying full price for a game and would like features that have been a staple in most multiplayer shooters, I think he is justified in feeling entitled

oh, and the nor did it's news updates/marketing decieve you into thinking it had something it doesn't is also not true. The splatoon tv ad demonstrates the paintbrush gameplay but does not specify that it is dlc and not out yet. Main point, nintendo marketing isn't really reliable in giving every piece of information out there

I definitely would have purchased this game if it had local multiplayer. Maybe next time.
