Forums - Sony Discussion - RTU(AKA hairy-nipple man)Sony Get A Grip. The PS4 Isn't Great At Handling 1080p. Optimize The Games!

I agree with his point. If 1080p is too much for the PS4 to handle then Sony needs to drop the "we have a better resolution" motto and just lower it for a better framerate, otherwise I feel it would just be arrogant. This is why i'm not surprised when some games have a better framerate on the Xbox One than PS4.

Must have missed that. Could you link me to the statements, please? And some games have better framerates on the PS4 than the XB1, but let's forget those in the same way we forget 10 months of the year.

The PS5 Exists.

I completely agree, even though it's not Sony's game, them and MS have given the impression that a higher resolution it's one of the most important features to come out of the new consoles, they first made a big deal about it, forcing devs to try to reach that stupid fucking standard so that they won't be looked with a bad eye from the gaming community, it's their fault 60fps isn't the standard in consoles yet, it's their fault that AAA devs are over-blowing their budgets in useless things like the most advanced dynamic lightning effects (well, it's them, and devs that want to intentionally sell their game on the premise of its graphics), it's their fault most clueless gamers have their standards set in the wrong place. Now we all must pay for their decisions.

I'm now filled with determination.

Its really a shame that sony build in such a bad cpu in the ps4. But i think the PS4 is powerfull enough to run games in 1080p and 60 fps, but they need to sacrifice some graphic effects.

I am from Switzerland, so please accept my bad english ;)

"Normally, most of the B-teams of the DC Universe should have no problem with either Goku or any other SSJ out there, Gotenks and Vegito included. I think Black Adam would be enough, easily, to end them both. Maybe Booster Gold, if he could stop being a fuck up for a while."

Jinxrake aka best Comedian ever

He is absolutely right. Performance over resolution any day.

And is true, is annoying how many fanboys doesn´t care about grahics when somebody compares with PC, in that situation is all about the gameplay, but in the moment there is no PC on the conversation, the Xbox one sucks because is 900p and not 1080. There is a ton of hypocrisy these days on the gamer comunity.

I will wait until Naughty Dog shows how it is done before passing such a judgment.

Until then, I'll say there are developers that are better at making 1080p PS4 games with consistent framerates than others.

Infamous Second Son is open world 1080 40fps, third party step your game up.

CDPR fault... not Sony.

But there is a new patch (1.03) that improves the framerate more close to solid 30fps (it is solid in a lot of areas)... so CDPR are working in these issues and I expect the game to be fully optimized after some patches.

I don't like patches for post performance/bug fixes... I prefer the game being optimized at Day 1 but after the launch of the game if patches are needed to improve the experience I'm fully support that.

Funny, Only a very select few games have had frame rate issues on PS4, and they're all third party developed titles with bugs that ended up falling on the developers themselves; not the console. All of Sony's AAA first party titles thus far have looked amazing and have run amazing as well.

Yeah like 1080p 60fps on Forza 5, right?!

Not sure what that has to do with framerate issues. Unless you're implying that if a game doesn't run 60 FPS, then it has issues, which is a ridiculous statement to say the least. If a game is running at 30 FPS, locked, with zero drops or tears, then there's no issues.

Also, this was already established, but Forza 5 only achieved that with some of the worst graphical downgrades in history. The game was barely a step above GT6, and actually had less features (no night and day, no weather, etc.). Nothing to brag about, so I'm not sure why people keep bringing it up.

Witcher 3 is not a first party game though.

CD project red CHOSE to pump the PS4 resolution to 1080p. What does SONY have to do with the witcher running at unstable framerate?

That's exactly what people fail to understand. They just love the controversy.
