Forums - Sales Discussion - Will Splatoon be able to outsell any major exclusives from Sony or Microsoft this year?

How many games does the Wii U have. The system has been out for over 3yrs now and has barely reached 10million console sales. There are few games coming out for the system thus forcing fans to buy a game every 6mths. 3rd Party doesn't support it....No one really cares anymore about the Wii U this Generation.

Both Xbox and PS4 are the top of the console and not looking back...

So much wrong with this post, but the lack of basic mathematics stands out the most...

Highly doubt that. I really don't see Splatoon outselling Bloodborne.

Maybe you forget that the first week, at least in Japan, Splatoon sell equal to BloodBorne. and only because the undershipment, if not, it should probabily outsell BloodBorne by a decent margin. Who know, maybe 20k, maybe 50k... and don't say "even BloodBorne was undershiped"

BloodBorne sold some like 87% of the total shipment first week.

Splatoon sold 97% of the total shipment.

Not even close.

So, we only expect to see how will sell Splatoon in the rest of world. If will sell at BloodBorne level, or maybe a little under like in Japan... nope, absolutely no way for BloodBorne sell more lifetime.

Nintendo games legs >>>>>>>>>>> Sony games legs. Even if we don't talk about Mario.

I think you're forgetting that in Japan Wii U has almost twice the installbase of PS4 right now. WW PS4 has 2.5 times the installbase of Wii U.

Don't judge their WW sales by how well Splatoon sold in comparison to Bloodborne in Japan. If they sold about the same in Japan despite Splatoon having twice the installbase to sell to then Bloodborne is going to obliterate it worldwide.

Japan sales accounted for less than 20% of Bloodborne's worldwide sales, but for Splatoon they're going to be like 50%, so expect around 300k first week, and no amount of legs is going to help Splatoon overcome that kind of initial gap.

Japan is the strongest for Nintendo in proportion to the overall market size. In US PS4 is far ahead of Wii U. You can bet on it selling more everywhere, doesn't make it true.

And you HOW know will sell more!? lol.

Doesn't make true? how yeah, because your prediction is a fact. lmao.

Doen't matter the console sales, we already see how strong is the attach rate with a Nintendo console.

That's not my prediction. PS4 has outsold Wii U in US bya  huge number, that's FACT. And usually only a few games have very good attach rates on Nintendo consoles. Splatoon is not likely to have that attach rate.

Judging Splatoon so quickly might prove fatal. In japan It literally sold out of its Shipment, has over 40k in digital sales there. As for legs, never underestimate a new ip. Tomodachi collection was overlooked and who knew a 30k-50k opening in Europe would turn into a 1mil+ game in that region alone?

Anywayz, back to your 300k FW.

Japan: 144k (+43k minimum Digital)

UK: 17k-20k

France: 24k

With these known numbers they add to at least 230k and thats without digital in Europe and excluding Germany and the other small tier countries.

Its going to be no less than 350k, and no less than 400k Shipped

Is fact that PS4 outsold WU in the US, NOT THAT BLOODBRONE WILL SELL MORE THAN SPLATOON.

Stop it.

Yes it has a chance. It may or may not. Definately forza or the order. Could it outsell Microsoft big guns halo or Sony uncharterd/GT then no way.

You said there's absolutely no way for Bloodborne to sell more than Splatoon like that was a fact. I said that you could be wrong.

End of discussion.

I said "If Splatoon will sell at BloodBorne level first week, there is no way for BloodBorne sell more than Splatoon" because IS FACT that the Nintendo games have stonger legs than the Sony games, and we already see that BloodBorne have not legs, indeed is dropped like a rock in Japan and US.

Now the discussion is truly end.
