Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Splatoon Map Rotation

Anyone else noticed that in Turf War there's space for 3 maps where there's only currently two? IE. where it shows you which maps are currently in action, there's space in the GUI for a third.

I reckon that when they've got a few more of the extra maps out they're going to switch it so there's 3 maps available at a time.

Thoughts?

Yup, I think when they release one more map it will be 3 maps in rotation.

Wish it was all the maps randomised. Not sure what problem they were trying to fix with just having 2 maps. Makes game worse only.

That's a good spot and will likely be filled with another map when released. Why they aren't all in rotation to start with baffles me...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

This map rotation shouldn't even exist.
It makes sense for ranked battles, but for normal games? :/

If you're interested in Nintendo content and understand german, maybe you want to take a look at my youtube channel! :)

Wow RGE actually agrees with me! It's a Splatoon miracle.

Worst part about it is having to see the squid sisters every time

Do you know when new maps are supposed to be coming perchance or is it just weekly random updates?

The rotation doesn't annoy me as much as i thought it would but a complete randomisation of the maps would be better. At least the empty spot hints to a third map being added when enough are released.

Playing: F1 2016 (PC), Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4)
Watching: Hajime no Ippo, Attack on Titan (4th time)
Upcoming purchases in October:
-TBD

That's exactly what's going to happen.

I don't really understand the point of the map rotation but honestly doesn't really bother me, the game still manages to "stay fresh".

well the rotation helped me in the first day to get to know the maps fast. If you play 2 maps for several hours youll get to know the maps alot faster as if you always switch between MANY maps.
So i do like it in the beginning but i guess it will be annoying in the future.

On the other hand at the moment im starting the game often again if the maps rotate again, so its clearly a reason for me to start the game more frequently, because there is anytime something new to explore :D
