Forums - PC Discussion - What Games Should I Get For PC?

So as a few of you are aware of I recently got into PC gaming! So I made a Steam account and whatnot and bought a program, RPG Maker VX Ace (dunno if that really counts as a game o~o) and then I realized something, I don't know of any PC games I should get XD I'm not really interested in any indies at the current moment, but I'd like some suggestions for some PC games. I'm normally into RPGs, but I'm open to pretty much any genre as long as the game is good enough.

Oh yeah, if you wanna add me on Steam I'm: ShinMegamiTenseiStrangeJourney (StarOcean was taken T.T) and I use the same avi as here!

As someone who has used Steam for years this is my suggestion.

Don't buy anything that isn't on sale.
Wait for a sale and spend $100 or so on hundreds of dollars worth of games.
Realize you don't care about most of the games you bought and never play them.
Promise yourself to not waste your money like that anymore.

Rinse and repeat.

Ah, the vicious cycle of Steam sales...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

In general, I recommend you regularly check out the various bundle sites (indiegala, humblebundle, indieroyale, etc.). They typically offer a lot more than indie games, and you can pick up quite a few games for a great discount.

Also, I highly recommend that you check different "deals" websites before you actually make a purchase to make sure it can't be picked up for less. Especially if you buy it from Steam's website; in general, just about any given site will offer better deals than Steam's official storefront.

As far as RPGs go, western RPGs like KOTOR or Elder Scrolls (or pretty much any RPG from last gen or earlier) can usually be picked up for a $2-3 during a sale. If you're into Final Fantasy games, you can get 3, 6, 7, 8, and 13 for roughly $10 each during a sale, maybe a bit less.

You must break the cycle...only then can you find peace.

Bundles shall set you free...

Alright, sounds good. I'll definitely see a few of those games. And yeah, I'm going to keep an eye on the deals

I approve of this.

"I promise I'll play them soon." - 6 Months later still there.

I really should try The Witcher 2, Metal Gear Rising, Alan Wake, Limbo, Don't Starve among others someday. But they were cheap!!!

Pillars of Eternity

Battle for Wesnoth (free!), Civilization V, Don't Starve, Endless Space, Pillars of Eternity, Rise of Nations, Skyrim, Total War (almost any game should do, really), Tropico (4/5, whichever has the price that suits you better)

So yeah, I checked what games I have installed/what came to my mind, and picked the ones I thought I could recommend. Even if you don't find them interesting, maybe this'll give you some ideas.
