It really does say something when the XBox One is going to outsell the GameCube with no fuss by the looks of it as well. 

Man people sure don't like more cartoony-family oriented home consoles. Unless Nintendo can pull off another Wii-controller craze they don't seem to be able to gain much traction with home consoles at all. 

If Nintendo could even just get back to 32 million+ with a home console it would probably be a minor miracle at this point, but that would be at least a healthy slice of the market. 

I have a Wii U (bought it used for 200 euro) and I can tell that the gamepad isn't needed in any game i have played, just optional minor staff.
If they have started the console at 200$ without the gamepad they would have better sales because Wii U has some decent games and the most exclusives than any other console.
In my country Xbox One sales for 300 Euro , you cannot have the same price for Wii U it's suicide.

They should've made the game pad optional, like the Wii Fit Balance Board is optional. You want it, buy Nintendo Land for $99.99 and you get the GamePad and you can play off-TV with it if that's what you want. 

The main system should've had 1 TFLOP or so of horse power, 4GB of RAM.

And it shouldn't have been tied to the Wii brand. They should've just spun the Wii off into its own casual centric brand and instead of releasing that hideous Wii revision (the black/red one), released a HD capable Wii. 

They may not be selling a ton unfortunately, but maybe a 25-40 million finish could've been doable in that case.

How much is Nintendo predicting for sales this FY?

About 3.4 mill in shipments I believe.

It's been pretty obvious after Mario Kart 8 launched..

Hopefully Nintendo can learn from this and make their next console more sucessful

The Bears accepted failure, so I had to predict correctly and eventually win the league as I'm certain that you recall.

I don't have as much trouble with Wii U's sales as I do with how many people buy Playstations.
