I don't go to the Microsoft parts of the forums really often, since that's the console that currently interests me the least out of the 3. So maybe I don't see much of the downplaying you are trying to refer to. Not saying it doesn't exist. Just saying I don't see it much for that reason.

That being said, on the Sony side of the forums, there are quite a few XBox regulars who do their best to downplay the PS4 and its games as much as possible. Derailing the threads, and making it difficult for the discussions to be focus on the thread's topic.

It's definitely a problem, and a solution to this should be among the priorities, I think. There's way too much negativity going on right now, in a place where we're supposed to enjoy coming ot because of our love of gaming.  With E3 just around the corner, all hell will break loose. Yet, E3 should be time to celebrate, because it is the time of the year where most gamers get something to rejoice. New games being announced, new features, etc... But it will again be about who won E3, which console has had worst annoucements than the others, etc. Surely, there's something that can be done to tone that down as much as possible.

So me giving my opinion on the topic of the thread (the tweet) derailed the thread?

Considering that Phil Spencer isn't known to spread bullshit, far from it in fact, people have legitimate reason to question your motivation here.
