This is also one of the results of PS4 dominating the market, as MS is no longer in a position to nickel-and-dime their customers with various proprietary overpriced crap. 

And a great example why it's good that such domination exists, XOne gamers can only thank Sony for making their hobby easier and less expensive. 

Next up, a USB charging port instead of a $25 cable.

they make you buy a 25$  charging cable too? i know about the battery pack but they also charge for the cable? LOL! so basically for an XB1 controller to have all the PS4's controller features it costs around 120$?

As an Xbox fan, I want to come here to personally thank Sony for the sheer dominance that they have displayed throughout this generation so far. Without them, I'd be even more violated and used by MS then I am now.

Well, you don't have to buy that cable, you can buy a battery charger. But in any case, you need to spend additional money to use the controller.

That's all kinds of wrong. The cable comes with the battery pack, and is no where near that expensive.

Xbox One controller (including play & charge kit): £47.15/$65.97
PS4 controller: £39.00/$50.00

A difference of £8.15/$15.97 is hardly much at all. Also worth noting that the standard controller without the charge kit is cheaper than a PS4 controller so if you break it you can just get the cheaper replacement and use your existing charge kit.


eh i never bothered to look up the prices, but thanks for the clarification. but 15$ is a big price. thats 30% of the PS4 controllers price. its still a rip off, and still didnt have a 3.5mm jack which i honestly just found out with this news, and i find that pretty shocking.

That's all kinds of wrong. The cable comes with the battery pack, and is no where near that expensive.

The point is: You buy a controller and cannot use it without an additional expense.
