Is the headphone jack the only difference? Are they maybe finally moving away from using AA batteries?

What a joke that the xb1 controller still uses AA batteries and has no headphone jack. Just shows MS's anti consumer policies. no headphone jack on a product released in 2013.
Yeah, they are releasing one with a head jack now, still they dont deserve no praise for not screwing over consumers alot now. Lets see if they get rid of those shitty AA batteries too.

The design is mostly the same, except for one fundamental difference, the controller will finally have a proper headset port, rather than Microsoft’s proprietary connector. Up until now, the Xbox One controller has not had a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, meaning those that want to use their own gaming headsets with the Xbox One console, need to buy a £20 adapter for the controller’s proprietary connector. Microsoft has since opened its eyes and realized that this is a bad idea and is changing it as a result. Xbox One controller PlayStation 4 owners won’t have encountered this problem, as Sony had the sense to build in proper headset support right from the start. The new feature will only be available on “controllers released after June 2015″." -kitguru
Its nice MS isnt locking people into buying super expensive special headphones or 20$ adapters anymore. The question is why did they do that in the first place? |
If you need to ask, you don't understand how MS runs Xbox division.
Looks nice to me! Won't be getting it, but I like the camo design.

just cuz the only physical change is the jack doesnt mean there are not other changes. they could have fixed peoples complaints about the bumpers and thumbstics

Well you know how it works...
OT: I wish, but if they did I thought they might have said something. Wish they did fix the bumpers though. Thumbsticks are superior though IMO.

This is also one of the results of PS4 dominating the market, as MS is no longer in a position to nickel-and-dime their customers with various proprietary overpriced crap.
And a great example why it's good that such domination exists, XOne gamers can only thank Sony for making their hobby easier and less expensive.
Next up, a USB charging port instead of a $25 cable.

wouldnt that still be a physical change? this shouldnt be considered the only new feature until MS officially announces everything about the new controller.
