I'm considering collecting all Kid Icarus amiibo. Since I have Pit and getting Palutena anyway.....

Just got my first Amiibo half an hour ago: the squid from Splatoon, which came with my copy of the game (Europe). Doubting whether I should take it out of its packaging or not... Normally I would just take it out of the packaging so I can play the extra missions, but with this crazy demand Nintendo is creating, sheesh, it's like they WANT people to become sharks and sell these things to the highest bidder online...

Ah well, I'll keep it for now, and see if I use it when I finish the normal campaign

That's quite a predicament and I know how you feel. I've taken all of mine out of the packaging. I wish that they had come in square shaped boxes that werE able to stack on top of eachother. If that were the case, I would keep the packaging. But unfortunately, they come in irregularly shaped packaging and is just not practical to keep it.

Very true. It would have been even more awesome if the packaging was made in hard plastic that could be resealed, like with DS and 3DS cases, but alas. In any case, good luck waiting in line! Hope you get your Amiibo!

Just got out, picked up splatoon three pack, the individual splatoon packs and silver mario. Already preordered the rest.

If I made it a point to collect amiibos, I'd probably go in a line to get them. They're a bit low grade though when it comes to quality, so I only get the characters I like, which luckily aren't hard to get.

Well I arrived at the Target where I shop 10 minutes after it opened and it had already sold out of Lucina and Robin. Though I still scored Charizard, they still had about 8 boy squidling and several jigglypuff and about 3 3-packs.
