Sony has confirmed the release window for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End today at its Investor Relations Day Conference. PlayStation president Andrew House revealed that the newest entry in Naughty Dog’s action franchise will be available before the 2015 fiscal year is over. In other words, the game will be out sometime before March 31, 2016.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End follows protagonist Nathan Drake as he comes out of retirement (treasure hunting apparently offers retirement), to track down a long-lost pirate treasure, though that will undoubtedly not be as easy as it sounds. What pitfalls await Drake on this new adventure? Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long to find out.

The game has already been confirmed to come out next year, so that leaves the first quarter of 2016 for a possible release date. While there wasn’t an exact confirmation of a final release date, it’s nice to have more of an idea of when the game is coming out.

That's not bad. So it was only delayed by a few months. The PS4 always sells well during the holidays and it doesn't really need a big exclusive, so releasing in the first quarter will certainly keep sales strong even after the holidays are done.

Huh. I would've thought this would be a fall/holiday release, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Won't be as far off as I originally thought.

Color me surprised! Expected it to be a holiday 2016 title. PS4 will start the year killing it. O.o

Maybe 2016 will be year that converges various releases from first party studios under Sony.
