It matters. If you're trying to say it is getting more support than any other console then that would mean it would be in direct competition with the PS3 and the Vita, the 2 consoles that most of those games are also releasing on.

I actually read the thread as "look at how many Japanese games ps4 has". Even so, you know hes talking about current gen home consoles. Why do keep slipping into these petty debates?

That only depends on the conditions of the thread. If he is only considering current gen consoles then hes not. I dont users understand what "cherry picking" is. Cherry picking is to deliberately set up conditions to make something false true.

 FF is the highest selling JRPG; not true because of pokemon. Now,

FF is the highest selling home console JRPG. True 

Breath of Fire is dead though BoF6 is announced, but I care about mobile so doesn't count. That is cherry picking

THAT is really amazing! Many Jrpgs and Japanese games coming back in the future, i think. Maybe the next dragon quest, ni no kuni 2 and a tales of-game in the future... ? Very interesting. Keep it up, Japanese developers. Bring the Games back to console. I think the PS4 you have made the right decision. Usa-europe: 95 % of all people want big japanese games on console, right ? What do you think about that ?

The OP initially said that the PS4 is getting more Japanese games than any other console. That has now changed to getting more Japanese games released in the west than any other current gen console.

The OP also lists 22 games for PS4. 2 of which the Vita already received last year(Sword Art Online & FFX HD) and 2 which I don't believe have even been confirmed for a western release this hear (Hyperdimension & Land without night)

I've just counted the number of Japanese Vita games releasing in the west this year and got to 23.

Even with those new conditions inserted and including games that may not even release the PS4 still doesn't beat the Vita and the OP's claim is wrong. So yes, it would require even further cherry picking to validate that claim..

Ok, how about this title:

"2015 PS4 and Vita have more Japanese support than all other consoles combined! WoW!"

Well... can't really argue against that

mmm I think he should just try to acknowledge vita at the same time. Vita is crazy with japanese titles. I bought two while I was in tokyo because I thought they would never come here. And now they're releasing here haha. Like, wtf Vita, you're not supposed to get this kind of support.

But yeah, he should acknowledge vita, like "ps4 second only to vita in j-support" or "the legacy system is passing down it's history of great j-support to PS4", or "breaking news: ps4 gains more j-support as vita is put on life support" :D

Since when a cross gen game is not exclusive, post people hère consider Tomb Raider 2 or titanfall as exclusives

As has been said by Kagari on Gaf: If you're into japanese games then you really need a PS4 this gen, I expect every major japanese third party publisher to create several PS4 exclusives this gen.

Yeah Vita is crazy good for Japanese games. They make up most of its library

You went to Tokyo huh? That's cool, which games did you pick up? Good old region free consoles

Even if i love JRPGs I'm still on the fence about the PS4, I don't want a repeat of the PS3/Vita situation were I look at the games and there is barely anything I'd like to play available in a language that I can understand.

I'm just glad that someone finally told Japanese developers that the PC is a viable gaming platform in the west.
