I think it has the potential to sell well.
if it goes over a million(worldwide) before the years end, id be impressed.
Kirby having a hard time selling makes me question the Wii U's ability to sell anything that doesn't have a picture of Mario on the cover.
:(

In all fairness Kirby and the Canvas curse on DS only sold 720K accoridng to vgchartz on the DS's userbase, so the 150K on Wii U isn't horrible honestly.

I do think Splatoon will do fairly well, the reviews have been pretty positive, people generally enjoyed the testfire demos a lot and Nintendo is pushing the marketing pretty hard. And at a few of the local EB Games here they actually had Splatoon posters covering the outside windows! Nintendo never gets that kind of advertising from there here.

Dk tf - 1million +

Hyrule warriors -1million +

Zombiu - 800k +

Windwaker hd- 1million +

Games outside Mario can sell suprisingly well on such a small user base.

Kirby was never expected to sell well at all

Nintendo is really pushing this game out, with tons of advertising, promotions, and of course, the Global Testfire.

Heck, the fact that people robbed from GAME kinda shows how crazy people are acting over this game.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Pretty sure Donkey Kong Country: TF has sold 1.05m right now and doesn't have Mario on it.

Kirby not selling well is solely due to the game sadly. It is a platformer, which the Wii U has a lot of and basically you kinda have to play on the Gamepad. I haven't played it but I know I would be more inclined to buy it if I didn't have to rely on looking at the Gamepad.

Also, LEGO City sold .91m and there is no Mario on that either. Hyrule Warriors sold over 1m and has no Mario on it.

Please keep the BS to a minnimum.

I know that, but I don't think they're selling huge numbers regardless at this point. Especially Destiny belongs in a genre that is typically front-loaded.

My main point is that Amazon is a very poor gauge for how a game will do in actual sales, especially past first week and in addition, this is a time when there really isn't anything else on the horizon causing ripples to measure against. A good first week seems almost given with the marketing push, but like I wrote in my first post; I don't think it will have great legs.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I agree that people have too much faith in Amazon (admittedly I'm one of those people sometimes), but I think people are just grasping for anything to predict sales since we get numbers so scarcely these days.

If Nintendo continues to support the game post-launch window (which they seem to have committed to), I think it will have good legs seeing as though it's gotten good marketing and it's online-focused (many of Nintendo's online games have amazing legs). We'll just have to see though.

Cause Nintendo is actually marketing it... My friends even saw a commercial at the movie theater

Its like £29 here in UK that's like what 20 dollars or something? Seems pretty cheap to me

You know that the pound is valued higher than the dollar right? That's $45 here, and it looks like it's cheaper in the UK then for some reason.

well the Japanese pre-orders are pretty good to be honest. The game doesn't look to be too Japan-centric, which lets me assume that the Western numbers (especially US) shouldn't be any worse. 200k shouldn't be impossible to reach FW and that's not too bad.

I still don't think it will sell millions, but it's probably going to beat my very conservative prediction, which is obviously surprising to me already.

Indeed, it would be refreshing to see something other Call of Duty and Battlefield move decent numbers. I'm considering buying this myself perhaps near the holidays, it's dirt cheap here and looks like great fun!

That's the first Nintendo Game which I see TV ads before the game release.

my guess is about 1.5 mil really, it's been hyped a lot but to me, it just seems like the game that will sell like hot cakes upon release and after a few weeks, die. just like what Xenoblade X did in Japan.
