Forums - Sony Discussion - Andrew House admits that the PS4s first party line-up this year is "a little sparse"

That may be so, but they're still making the $$$ so it shouldn't be a pressing manner for them, like it is for Nintendo.

The problem was 2013 line up.The last of us,GOW ascension, pupeteer, gran turismo 6....... most first party were finishing their games for PS3 in the year PS4 launch. They need time to create new games(like 2-3 year at minimum).

Sony needs to get their shit together.Exclusive DLC will not work forever....

yeah, Sony normally takes their time to put out some exclusive games, it was the same with the PS3 where the only critically aclaimed game they put out in the first two years was Uncharted which isnt even that great compared to its sequels, now they have Bloodborne which is filling that role and came out in less than 2 years (1 year and 4 months to be exact) but now they are in a worse situation for the reasons that you stated, not only are some of those studios currently developing new games but they are doing so for a new console with new hardware that is gonna take them time to master, (surely not as hard as the cell and even something that is somehow familiar to them but regardless of that something new).

this is why i want this gen to be as long as the last one because eventually we will get years like 2013, but it will take its time... its long time.. 2017 and/or 2018 could be the next 2013... men games take to loooooooong to make now :/

PS4 is only year and a half on the market of course it won't have many first party titles. Neither console did. I don't understand what are people expecting.

Thats the fall back excuse, after Yoshida's promise I doubt any ps4 fan was thinking the first 1.5 years would be this slow.

For proof, I copied an article showing that a ton of people were expecting greatness, it's just now people are trying to change their tune. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/24/20-games-12-new-franchises-coming-to-playstation-4-in-year-one

the top comment "Never any doubt that Sony would come through on the games. They own too many studios not to." Now you hear"PS4 is only year and a half on the market of course it won't have many first party titles. Neither console did. I don't understand what are people expecting."

Well for me this whole generation has felt "a little sparse" so far, hopefully it'll be looking up after E3.

It also had to do with the fact that a bunch of Sony's 1st party studios were releasing games for the PS3 in 2013 and some of them should've been saved for the PS4 such as Puppeteer and Gran Turismo 6.

It's gonna sell a lot anyways, lol.

You are really beating a dead horse here.  Actually Sony has already commented on this.  They said that they were going at warp speed but had to slow down because they were finding that it was taking a hit to the quality of their product.  For example, Drive Club (which is now avery solid game) was no where near ready at launch.   So, in otherwords they adjusted their pace.  That being said, I am happy with what I have so far.  I can wait for the games I really want (namely Star Ocean 5 and Kingdom Hearts) but I really don't want them to be rushed.   Microsoft and Sony have 80% of the same games in common.    And if you caount all the third party games coming this year alone, it is more than enough to satisfy any gamer on any platform.   Metal Gear Solid 5, Batman, and Battlefeild.  This destroys anyones exclusive lineup.

Way to dodge the point, trying to deflect. Also MSFT got much closer to ther promise than sony and you had to exclude 360 and PC (clearly not compteition to XB1) to prove your point. You are trying to punish MSFT for still developing for 360, which you probably hated on them for "abandoning."

Sony exec says games are sparse and you still sit up here defending them until the end. Yoshida lied blatantly several times and it's just swept under the rug.

Where does Andrew House say that? It's telling that you accuse someone of 'defending until the end' and then have to change the meaning in order to try and win the argument. There are plenty of exclusives for the PS4 this Christmas (and BEFORE), but there isn't that many FIRST PARTY games. That's what he's saying.

The PS5 Exists.

Lol, what? What a load of BS, you are the one trying to call out Sony for lying while acting as if MS has always been called out or has never lied.

So are you telling me that when MS announced 15 XBOX ONE exclusives but actually meant 15 games that would come to Xbox One but also to 360 and PC that that wasn't lying? Good shit.

Also if you believe that I'm defending Sony here then you clearly haven't paid any attention to my last few threads, someone is defending their company of choice here mr. "but they got closer" and "you have to include 360 and PC to prove your point" and it's not me.

Troll = Fed
