When two part of the competition shoot themselves in the foot it becomes a no brainer.

I really can't wait for next gen for MS and ninty to bring their A game.

Except 2006 to 2011 Playstation dominated home consoles since 1995. Yes. I also want to see them challange Playstation again.

xbox one is sold in 42 markets
ps4 is available in over 100 markets

not hard to gain 80% marketshare without any competition

Wow, only 42 markets?
That just further exemplifies how poorly the XB1 brand name is recognized worldwide.

Lol. That logic again. Who is stopping Microsoft to release in those markets?

There are no laws or regulations forbidding Microsoft to launch in more countries.

But of course, one can always avoid losing by not competing at all.

lol? also a nice point of view. ofc no one is forbidden to launch in more markets. but maybe they don't want to. and/or it's not useful to theire bussines. nintendo and microsoft are way defferent than sony in that space. nintendo and ms = home market, na, eu and some other selected markets. sony = all over the world. many small asian, south american and african markets. one can always shout out winning while no competition is available. but to be fair, sony never did that. just some fanboys make up news out of this 80% marketshare in many countries. and sony deserves that marketshare. they're the only ones willing to invest there with little, to no return. edit: great! formatting does not work...

dunno. it's an henn/egg argument.
valid and non valid the same time.

but at least it's an explanation
edit: wow formatting on normal posts work. on quotes i didn't. can some1 help me?

Is there such a thing like an XBox centric market?

Dunno, is there?, does that even factor into this?.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Of course, We would possibly know this because we haven't had a chart update in so long, I think its impossible to catch up.

The complete and utter disdain (or complete lack of interest) in their product.  To Microsoft, the world IS the US and the UK.

Why are they still buying the PS4 when it has no exclusives scheduled for the western holidays?

"I want to play CoD and AC and GTA with my friends, they mostly have PS4's so I'll get one too to play with them."

Or

"PS4 is more powerful and I want to play Fifa on the best one"

Or general mixes of the two.

Don't forget better advertising and brand awareness. For a lot of people when they think about new consoles the Xbox doesn't even come to mind, they think PS4 and that's it. Particularly the case in Europe where Xbox advertising is very limited and PS4 is everywhere.

General preference aswell. But yeah better advertisement gets the initial market penetration and then the rest just follows.
