Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4 “Almost Approaching” 80% Market Share in Many Countries

Why are they still buying the PS4 when it has no exclusives scheduled for the western holidays?

"I want to play CoD and AC and GTA with my friends, they mostly have PS4's so I'll get one too to play with them."

Or

"PS4 is more powerful and I want to play Fifa on the best one"

Or general mixes of the two.

It already has No Man's Sky, Until Dawn, Street Fighter V, and Tearaway.  Plus they are sure to anounce at least a couple more at E3.

I am so tired of this - anyone who has ever said the PS4 "Has no games" just has their head in the sand, or somewhere else ;)

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

The discussion about exclusive holiday games should be primarily about sales. If Sony has a "weak" hoilyday compared to it's competitor then it's their issue because it's not detrimental to the overall quality of the games on the device.

Because to the vast majority, exclusives play a rather small role in deciding which console to buy. Take the Wii U for example, it has tons of high quality exclusives, but the XBO and the PS4 is/are getting even more high quality multiplats.

Halo 5 is litterally all they have to worry about.  They will counter with Uncharted Trilogy, Unannouced exclusiveses, a nice price drop, and of course banking on the hunch that Halo is not the behemoth it used to be.

Not surprising. Xbox isn't big in anything outside UK and USA (which is loosing) and Nintendo only officially releases in about........12 countries.

Exclusives are needed for mostly new brands to establish. Most of the people don't care a game is exclusive or not. Its games that matter. You are living in past. Now a days gaming is different.

So you are changing your story to it only has weak exclusives to offer now? Would be good if you could acknowledge that your original statement is wrong, and quite borderline as far as forum rules go.

Great, but he also say the first party for 2015 is little sparse thats makes M$ easy win November and December
Is going to be Summer Until dawn, tearaway and then nothing hope Sony have cool Third party exclusives dlc deals

In the US only.

Worldwide is still going to be a Sony win.

Edit: Actually, with the Battlefront marketing deal and rumours they have the COD one as well, it will be far from easy for Microsoft. I'd say Sony are still the favourites to win those months.

Last year both was equal The last of us MS has halo remaster, then sunnset, Sony has LBP3, drive club, MS Forza. Ofcourse Sony 2014 and 2015 the first monts was strong against MS but this holiday seasson is belong to MS. I mean with Halo that 10/10 game and Tomb Raider and forza game again i think? Sony has win on third party games thats why have 80% market share for peoplle who wondering why (because people buy the most power console) and count on that this season more than ever with MGS, Star wars, Batman, maybe cod? This E3 Sony must show us that First party have start the engines on 2016

Please note that I said that it was "weak compared to it's competitor" and not weak in and by itself. If you read my first post again you should notice that I intentionally made written to be self-contradictive.
