In fairness this IP is now owned by a new company who probably want to test the waters of the franchise. I assume they would use this remaster to see whether the franchise is viable going forward.

Games are just costing too much to produce these days so these re-releases are being used to bring in cash while new games are being made. Unfortunately a product of the current industry. 

I don't mind them however, I like complete editions and collections
