This RRP is just that, an RRP. 

So it's kinda like the UK RRP where you can get one cheaper than that at most places anyways. Well, it's still better than MS doing nothing I guess.

 

Yeh that's a good way to put it really in terms of local sales. 

But importing is still very big in China. Especially as PS4 and X1 came out a long time after US. Plus it's still cheaper to import in some cases. 


Too bizare to import a product made at your country and even more grotesque is it being cheaper and better than what is officially available.

You know how bad the xbox situation is when your grandma asks you why the 'latest xbox' dropped from £429 to £270ish.
Price drop here, price drop there. You get a price drop, you get a price drop, you all get price drops.

That means it was about $600 USD and dropped to $490. Without Kinect. That's insane price. Of course they dropped it.

I don't get it why MS aren't dumping the price of the X1 in Japan and China. That is the only way to gain some ground if that is what they want to do.

What's sad is that MS tried to rip off the Chinese consumer. Charged an outrageous price and kept its crappy policies from before the 180. There really was no other outcome to be had with it launching like that.

It would multiply sales by 10.... but 10x0 is still 0. 

I know I'm exagerrating but that's pretty much the situation in Japan/China at the moment. 

Here is some perspective for Japan market.

The PS1, PS2 & PS3 in Japan have sold cumulative 50m+ combined. 

The Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One have sold cumulative 2.2m units in Japan.

What's even worse, the Xbox original sold 120,000 units on day 1 in Japan, the Xbox 360 sold 65,000 units day 1 in Japan but the Xbox One has sold just over 50,000 in 8 months. It hasn't even beat day 1 sales of the original Xbox and Xbox 360.

that is out of control i feel at this point they are only in these countries to say they are in these countries
