Well, I don't practice it (and never will) but quite frankly, whatever people do with their love lives is none of my business and as long as it's between consenting adults, it's fine by me.

It takes incredibly unselfish (both sexually and emotionally) individuals to make something like this work. In the short run, it could seem to work. But I don't think it's a very good long term proposition for anyone.

It's challenging enough to have one partner, let alone multiple ones who will likely compete with each other.

It's not impossible. I've heard of cases where it has worked.

Shouldn't there be a precursor to this question? Like... "have any of you ever been in a relationship before?"

I think the hard part of a monoamorous relationship is that people make a lot of assumptions about the code from which they and their partner must live by and often these assumptions conflict. With a polyamorous relationship you need to set the codes from the start, and it gives the relationship more of a clear-cut structure. So I can definitely see how both situations can work, and how polyamorous ones do work currently. If anything it seems to me as if polyamorous relationships tend to have a lot of cooperation, and having more than two people can definitely help divide tasks among the family, ease the workload of real-life stressors. So like any setup, there are advantages and disadvantages, but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Polyamorous myself. I have one primary and see others off and on. It really is the most free love you can have and it really opens up communication. Despite what a lot of people think, it's not just about sex.

Do whatever makes you happy, but this sounds like a curse to me. I love woman, but for the life of me I couldn't imagine having more that one wife. It sounds like a death sentence. I mean, it must be great to have more than one sexual partner... but is it really worth having more than one wife? Imagine an argument with 2 or 3 wives at the same time. I would rather not actually.

So very much this.  In my situation I have 3 women whom I consider my wives.  Been in this situation for about 6 years now, and have only had sex with one of them.  Love isn't just about getting down.

It isn't our decision? If someone wants to be in a 3+ way relationship where everyone knows about it, let them. It's their lives. NOT ours.

I personally however will not be in a polyamorus or polygamorus relationship.

I don't support in terms of "I think it's ok and would think of partaking in it". I think it's pretty horrible and can only lead to disfunction, but I do think that people can engage in it if they want to with other consenting parties.
