Forums - Sony Discussion - Until Dawn Launches on PS4 August 25th

I am very much looking forward to this, but I am a bit hesitant. I love branching/choices games but not every one can pull them off. Hopefully, even though it will be another cinematic and QTE-type game, the branching choices and fate of the survivors will give this game a good replay value to justify the $60 price tag.

I am looking at this as Walking Dead with realistic graphics. And TWD got all the praise but really had no choices of consequence. If they can make the branching to mimic Zero Escape, they have done a great job.

We now must wait to see if it will turn out this way.

ouch, so ps4 still doesn't have anything for this holiday.

man does ps4's upcoming lineup suck,.. will sony ever release an exclusive for the system?!?

Uncharted Collection+No Man's Sky+Tearaway Unfolded is my guess for the holiday Quarter.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Very excited for this! But I'll probably get it in a sale or something.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Great news! Will definitely keep an eye out for this. But most likely if I intend to purchase this, it'll likely be when its cheaper.

Exactly. I loved TWD to death, i even liked season 2 better as I thought the ending variation were a nice touch (Despite pretty much every other decision not mattering at all) I don't see this game garnering the same amount of praise as the TWD series but I still have hype hopes for it. If the game is worth it, I will gladly support the developers with a full price purchase.

Can't wait!

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

It will score the same as the Order.

Awesome! Definitely an anticipated game for me this year. Hopefully, the replay value will be high.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

The decision to release this game prior to October is baffling to me. Horror is meant for that month, so why not capitalize on that? Besides, Aug 25th is just one week from the release of Metal Gear Solid V and the Mad Max video game.

Until Dawn is going to get floored.

Well this is an exclusive for the PS4... at the moment you dont know if the game will suck.

Personally I think this is a good game for August, a traddionally quiet period anyway before the big 3rd party games drop. I'll wait until after E3 until I reserve judgement on their Xmas stuff, but for me if they just release an Uncharted package with 1-3 in, then add in all the 3rd party games, and I will be very happy indeed.

So far they will have/will have that are on their console,

  • Feb - The Order - Exclusive
  • March - BloodBourne - Exclusive
  • March - MLB The Show - Exclusive
  • April - Tropico 5 - Console Exclusive - 3rd Party
  • May - Arcania Magica 2 - Console Exclusive - 3rd party
  • July - God of War 3 - Exclusive
  • August - Until Dawn - Exclusive

Seems ok to me at the moment, they are spreading them out (with the help of 3rd parties as well). I still have a massive backlog from the other games I've purchased. I guess if you have lots of time and trade games in all the time, then I suppose one nearly every month is not enough, but for me working full time, still with a massive PS3/PS4 backlog... I dont want too many more.

Add into that that I also got:

  • Witcher 3
  • Wolfenstien the Old Blood
  • Dying Light
And will/Maybe getting:
  • Lego Jurrassic Park
  • Batman
  • Mad Max
  • Rainbow 6
  • Assassins Creed
  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • Just Cause 3
Stuff that hasnt been announced yet.
So thats about 12 games for me at least that I will own, that is approx 1 a month. That's quite a few before we find out about potential games like Doom, Fallout etc etc... so much goodness.
