What market deal?

The Witcher 3 is a game marketed like "Xbox One only"... it was confirmed by CDPR because the close relationship with MS with the previous games.

It is like the Destiny deal with PS4... the different was MS choose to make a normal bundle instead a different one (or course retailers can do non-official bundles like the PS4 BB + Witcher 3 or the Xbone Destiny).

Except it wasn't.

If Microsoft actually paid for a marketing deal then they either paid much less than they should have or are simply stupid. There just wasn't much in the way of marketing it for Xbox. The PS4 version got all the attention, all the deals and all the bundles.

I'm not so sure about that. I've seen quite a few X1 Witcher adverts on TV and loads on the Internet. People saying the PS4 has all the deals are talking rubbish too. It's cheaper to get the X1 with Witcher than PS4 with it.

I can't speak for the UK, but I saw a tremendous amount of advertisement for it in the US, even to the point where my ISP streaming service had embedded ads.

Isn't that fairly typical MS? Market everything to the extreme in the US and forget that the rest of the world even exists?

Well, I haven't been to Europe in close to 2 decades now, so I can't really comment.  Plus, I don't really watch a ton of live television (mostly stream On-Demand stuff).  So, I don't really get to see a ton of ads either.  But yeah, I noticed those for sure.

That PS4/XBO split on The Witcher 3 is insane considering Microsoft's marketing deal. It's even crazier when you remember the last game wasn't even on Playstation.

To me that just further illustrates the fact that there are quite a few Xbox 360 owners jumping ship.  Kinda wondering if MS will eventually stop doin marketing deals cause they really are seeing little to no benefit from them.  Guess it could be starting this year, if the rumors of Sony getting COD advertising is true.

How many times did you actually see it advertised for Xbox though. MS have been piss poor with actually marketing the games they get deals for so far in Europe, and to me it seems The Witcher 3 was just another example of that.

Yea, it will be interesting to see NPD for May.  If things play out like the UK, the PS4 will probably be slightly ahead.  I do know that June is going to be a slaughter with Batman launching.
