Dark Souls was good. Dark Souls 2 is the one that sucked

I love Bloodborne, I got really into DkS2 for a while before Bloodborne launched, and I was a huge fan of Demon's Souls, which I ragequit not out of difficulty, but out of being hopelessly lost.

But DkS1 didn't grab me. It hated me, and I was obliged to hate it back and return it. I don't know why it didn't resonate with me, but it didn't.

Well, apart from DS 2 which was good but nothing more than that, I'd disagree.
Is Dark Souls perfect ? By all means no. But it's still really great. It has much more plus than cons.
No games are perfect. Even The Witcher 3 (which is being praised all around) has clunky combat, for example. Even Bloodborne isn't perfect, not at all. TLOU is flawed as well, Uncharted too, Halo too, etc...

But Dark Souls immediately grabbed me when I played it. The ambiance, the lore, the feeling of defeting that ******* boss that wrecked you for hours because of a misroll, or because I got too confident... It's just so great.

No games are perfect. And there is only a minority of fanboys who claim DS is. But that takes nothing from its greatness, in my opinion.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

The souls series as a whole (flaws included) are as close as i've come to seeing perfection with what I want in a video game. It forces me to learn, adapt, and overcome immense challenges. It's not extremely difficult like some claim, as they are challenges that can be conquered. However, we now live in a world where advancement within a game is dished out to a player on a silver platter. This in my opinion is NOT fun. It's boring, tedious, and mind numbing. I commend one developer for respecting that another breed of gamer exists and not (for the lack of a better word) dumbing down the experience.

Now is that unfair to people with "lives"? (This is bullshit, I have a life too.) It's all about preference, and while it may seem unfair, I think it's fine. There are thousands of titles out there, and it's not the end of the world that you can't enjoy one.

Souls does not suck by any stretch of the imagination. It's different, it's flawed, and it's a god damn treasure among mediocrity.

I really enjoyed it and its not that hard if you know what you are doing.

Dark Souls is good but I don't like te cheapness to it in comparison to Demon's Souls.  Blight Town and Tomb of Giants(without the lantern) aren't hard, they're cheap hard.

Also broken in design compared to Demon's Souls.  Certain weapons don't scale in power.  Armor increases weight but it hardly matters, if it's equipped, as you'll take hardly any difference in damage when you're naked over being in a full suit of Havel equipment.  Pyromancy doesn't scale so it'll be powerful and get less powerful the more you play.

If they'd make a Demon's Hunters, they could tweak balance in each new game whill adding additional attacks spells, etc.  Better balance would fix some issues.

But... they're not hard.... Bloodborne felt pretty easy. I've beaten Dark Souls and up pretty easily without any online help (I don't even summon the in-game NPC offered in the stories). The games just punish inpatients and don't hold your hand. I'm having a harder time with Witcher 3 on max difficulty than I ever did with any Souls.

4 ≈ One

Yeah.

People who suck at the game complain that it is unfair and cheap : the thread

Dark Souls has its flaws, but overall it's an excellent game that was well received by critics and gamers.

"Does Dark Souls ACTUALLY SUCK?!?" is such a clickbait title.
