yeah okami and muramasa for sure. and most of what i've seen from xenoblade chronicles x looks gorgeous.



Stylized realism. I find this art style very suitable for telling the stories I'd like to see in video games, and it offers rich and complex mechanics that still make the world feel 'gamey' and bazzar to look at because of the arbitrary actions the player is required to do. Just like any other game with a diffrent visual design.

Preferring one art style over the other doesn't matter really, because I still have the capacity to enjoy games from a wide range of diffrent visual designs.

The Jet Set Radio franchise deserves mentionning, though I get a lot of people hated it. (and i like to think of splatoon as a successor in some way)

I see a lot of Okami in the thread but Id like to mention that Muramasa did the same and did it better IMO
