Hot damn, Ian dropping truth bombs like a mofo. He's doing the same thing that Plat/Bayo 2 dev did on twitter.

Yes, because those that want the version they were promised are the same as port beggars for an exclusive.

EDIT for pedants

Yes, because crowdfunders that want the version they were promised are the same as port beggars for an exclusive.

Where are these crowd funders who were promised a Wii U version? The backers of this project were offered cash. Not Wii U ports.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

""It's not our job to disappoint those guys,"

If that's the case, you might be on your way to getting fired =___=

its also not a cops job to be friendly he can chose to do so anyway tho.

If he would have said "its our job to NOT disappoint those guys" then he could get fired for not doing his job.

They should have done what everyone else did and never announced a WiiU version to begin with. Yikes, what a waste to think they'd go this far then get blasted for telling the truth. Ridiculous.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Yeah, we should be praising them for such an effort. Even if there is 0 proof of it, not a single picture.

An off screen picture was leaked. But whatever, they made all that shit up. The PS3 and 360 version didn't exist either!

I'm baffled people are giving the deceitfulness of the studio a free pass. Yes the Wii U is not powerful to handle the game to a standard. But the overpromising, constant misleading rhetoric and the rudeness is something they should be accounted for.

"The Wii U is underpowered" is a red herring detracting from the real issue present.

At least they gave the Wii U a chance. They wanted to believe in it, they wanted it to work, they really did. And then reality set in. The studio was brutally honest, which other dev would reveal this information? Which other dev would release the games current framerate? Which other dev would admitt to problems getting the game to run at desired performance levels? Would you rather they just silently cancel it? Would you rather they make some BS excuse? Would you rather they released a cut down version that runs at 30fps without any weather effects? What would you have them do? Like seriously, da hell. Ian was civil, polite and honest and only lost his cool once all the crazies came out of the woodwork.

How exactly is the following brutally honest:

" "Tudor said he sees the game regularly and he's impressed with where it's at. "It's got dynamic time of day, weather--it looks phenomenal," he said. "And the actual console itself is quite good.""?

So the game actually played well and looked good on Wii U at some point, but now it can't reach 23 fps? Why not resort to said earlier build? Brutally honest would have been telling people what really is happening throughout development rather than misleading them to think development is going well when it is not.

My understanding is that optimization (i.e. improving the frame rate) of a game is usually one of the later tasks in development. He never stated that the game was running and playing well with all of these features at 30fps at 720p. He was saying that we have these features included and was probably hopeful that they could optimize the performance later on. As it turns out, they are having much more trouble than antisipated optimizing the Wii U version, and will most likely deem it not worthwhile to continue.

It looked good, no indication of performance. I doubt the game was optimised at that point in time on any platform except PC. Wasnt the first console footage released about 4-5 months ago?
