Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii U version of Project CARS facing troubles, likely cancelled

I'm totally not surprised completed stunned. A third party studio abandoning the Wii U, at its zenith of popularity, what madness is this?

Ha! Expose Nintendo's next home console, I'm sure a super version of this game will be a brilliant tech showpiece for whenever it launches.

I wonder how many Wii U owners legit want this to play (not just to prove a third party point), but don't own a PC or intend to pick up a PS4/X1?

Since it was kickstarter backed, the only fair thing to do is optimise the graphics for Wii U hardware even if that means it looks like its from 2009

Wii-U can't handle the truth... uh i mean Project Cars.

If you read the Nintendo Life link, continued development seems contingent on whenever NX will be fully unveiled. Clearly the studio are expecting (despite Nintendo's very public statements to the contrary) NX to either be announced 'properly' at E3 or shortly after; or they expect development kits to be distributed sometime soon. Soon being whatever amount of time it would take to finish and launch Project CARS in some form on Wii U.

Wasn't Project Cars at one point supposed to be the game that proves that Wii U owners do in fact buy third party games on their system?

Only if it miraculously ran at a higher resolution and framerate, and supported twice as many cars, otherwise it'd be a gimped version and therefore not worth buying, regardless of whether they owned any other console with which to play it on.

Honestly it would be better to make a decision to commit or not, instead of misleading Wii U fans that backed the projest. What they are doing now is pretty shitty and will only cause a larger backlash.

Wii U is just too weak compaired to the Xbox One & PS4.
Theres no way around that truth, then add ontop of that its crazy hard to develop games for and... yeah.

It isnt getting as many 3rd party games.

I hope nintendos next system is either ARM or x86, not some IMB Powerpc type weird cpu.
I also hope they go with a APU from AMD, and work abit on ease of development for the system.

Sad, but not surprising.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Soo... All the people who backed it for PS3/360 got screwed but since they likely own an Xbone/PS4 now they have it a bit better off. But WiiU owners are royally screwer :/
