DS-games outsold Vita-games, that is funny. What is not as funny is that in 4 months xbone sells more games than WiiU

Haha I thought when you said "Nordic" you meant the game publisher!

I take the kids at work to an internet cafe here in the city every sunday; can't say I'm surprised by that list. There are about 140 games pre-installed on the computers but people mostly only play 4-5 of them.
To no one's surprise; the most common ones are Call of Duty, FIFA (mostly on the Xbox One's they have though), Battlefield, Minecraft and CS.
Quite a few play LoL as well.

Also quite sad to see that the retail market has decreased substantially in the last few years. I just hope digital has picked up the slack, and to be honest, I could see some quite high digital numbers in the nordic countries.

I don't know, the PS4 hasn't caught up to the PS3 in software sales either so there's a trend there. Also not like the Vita had much in the way of physical software releases in 2014 as 80% of it's releases are now digital only :p

Surely it's funnier that a console that has been on the market in 2012 and had it's biggest software releases inc Mario Kart 8 and still failed to sell more software than a system that had been on the market less than 4 months and was supposedly in a territory that is "hostile" towards it. (Only UK is pro Xbox in Europe supposedly). Personally I don't find either of them "funny", but I do think it shows what a good job MS has done of their XBO launch over there.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Good intel, thanks. Tagging.

This report is fairly old now and came out some time ago.

Here is some more data for those interested in hardware sales for Nordic region.

Cumulative PlayStation hardware sell in for Nordic countries
(Denmark, Finland, Norway & Sweden)

YEAR PS2 PS3 PS4
2004 1.40m
2005 1.80m
2006 2.05m
2007 2.30m 0.20m
2008 2.45m 0.50m
2009 2.54m 0.75m
2010 2.60m 1.00m
2011   1.30m
2012   1.60m
2013   1.80m 0.06m
2014   2.00m 0.50m

Saw this last year as well.

It seems with the decline in interest for XB in general, that the Swedish market has a decline in interest in gaming.

2009 to 2014 drops are quite interesting.

Sweden -53% -3m
Norway +9% +150k
Denmark -59% -2.2m
Finland -37% -800k

Oddball is Norway actually increasing, though the massive drops in Sweden and Denmark are quite concerning.

Sweden is still the largest market but its marketshare has fallen from 43% to 35%. Norway may have a chance at being top nordic market soon from being the smallest in 2009.

Those numbers seem awfully high. 2 million PS3s in 2014? That's like 2/3 of hat it shipped worldwide in 2014. Source?
