The game overall has more challenge compared to Mario.

Because Retro and Ubisoft know how to make good platformers that can compete with Nintendo platformers

I haven't played Donkey Kong Country Returns or Kirby's Return to Dreamland, but I've seen a lot of them.

I'll go with Sonic Colors. It was a surprisingly good game. Very fast-paced, fluid, polished and it had fantastic music.

The graphics and music aren't quite as good, but the gameplay is every bit as fun, challenging, and intense.
