The Direct was comically bad. If only it at least provided more humor like Wii Music Drum Guy.

In Nintendo's defense, the Wii U fall lineup sees:

-StarFox
-MarioMaker
-XCX
-Yarn Yoshi
-Animal Crossing Spinoff
-Mario Tennis

That's actually a pretty good and diverse lineup. There just wasn't anything fun or exciting about the event.

We're also getting Fatal Frame V and Devil's Third. I'm not angry about Nintendo's Wii U and 3DS line-ups, it's the presentation that was terrible.

HAHAHAHA oh god and there's still people that praises nintendo after the WORST E3 CONFERENCE EVER.

Don't forget Fatal Frame.

Even though the Digital Event was hot trash, I actually like this year's Wii U lineup more than last year's.

It's far, FAR from being the worst.

Well when you have the memory of a goldfish, or an agenda to push, it's easy to reach that conclusion.

Smeags killed the damage control thread so I'm posting this here:

The direct really makes me wonder why they made the pre-E3 direct. I don't think Nintendo would have gotten nearly as much flack if they had skipped all of the developer stories and filled the gaps with the games from the mini-direct plus stuff like Devil's Third and Fatal Frame V, and perhaps some news for Smash and Splatoon as well. This direct made it look like Nintendo has absolutely nothing to offer on their systems and that's not true in any way.

The greatest advantage of this format is that Nintendo can get rid of useless fluff, bad pacing and fake applauds, and focus entirely on showing games. More in-depth demonstrations and interviews with developers can then be shown at the Treehouse event. This year Nintendo did the exact opposite of what they should have done, by including a ton of boring talk and leaving out upcoming games.
The transformation theme wasn't bad but they should also have used it to promote the diversity of their upcoming line-up. Have a 3DS split up into three parts, each one transforming into Link and then show of the new Zelda game. A Wii U transforms into a haunted mansion and then you get a Fatal Frame trailer. And so on and so forth...Sure, it's meaningless but it would look cool!

True, the problem wasn't the game but the conference itself. Less fluff more games, no more pre E3 Directs unless the E3 has enough. I think nintendo understands what the problem is and will make next year better.

I'm deeply sorry for not throwing my Nintendo systems out in the yard and writing a poem about how I now hate Nintendo with a passion, all because they made a bad E3 presentation.

Eh, not holding my breath. Nintendo didn't seem to understand why people praised them last year so it's not out of the question that they'll do something stupid next year.

Locked 5 reaction threads regarding Nintendo today. A few on each side of the spectrum. I get that emotions were/are high, but at this point they've run their courses.

SMTxFE is on the Treehouse right now though. Looks pretty neat.
