Now if only they were like this from the beginning of the wiiU

Sadly enough it wouldn't have made much of a difference without 3rd party support :(.

Still have yet to see a Wii U commercial of any kind on TV, so NoA atleast still has their heads in the ground.

Yeah, I get the feeling NoE is putting as much marketing as they did for Mario Kart 8, but NoA is content for internet ads, live action exibits and sticking to small spots here and there on kids channels during day time hours.

I hope they prove me wrong.

That's what Nintendo needs to improve upon, advertising. They need to show people that their console is not only family friendly but also entertaining to older and teenage audiences. That could improve their console sales. Also they need better commercials than "you're a squid now." Seriously. Fire the person who thought that was a good idea 😒

That's pretty cool.

Nintendo really needs to step up their advertising, though.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Still think that the people on the advertising department have no idea how to sell the nintendo games.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

I saw a few Splatoon ads on Youtube as well. Also, I remember seeing Smash and MK8 ads on TV last year

It's nice to see that Nintendo is getting its shit together!

Honestly I think Nintendo fans have set the bar so low for Nintendo that a lot of this is hyperbole.

These Splatoon TV ads are still very mediocre and make the game look some mid-1990s kids game. They're not good commercial and knowing Nintendo they will likely barely run on TV, we're just saying it's good advertising by Nintendo's standard which is usually no advertising.

Even Mario Kart 8 which is apparently "great marketing" by Nintendo ... the TV commercials were crap (came off like a breakfast cereal ad for kids) and I saw it maybe twice on TV total. If that's all it takes to be thought as "great marketing" by Nintendo, again I have to wonder how far we have lowered the bar here for Nintendo.
