Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii U sequels?

Do you think we'll see any franchise sequels on the Wii U?

By that I don't mean merely entries in an ongoing franchise (MK8, DKC: Tropical Freeze, etcetera) that will/have made an appearance on the U.  More specifically, will entries that have appeared on the Wii U already see follow-ups during this generation, or will all of those titles go to the next console?

For example, will Nintendo publish a "Pikmin 4", a "Super Mario 3D World 2", or even a "Mario Party 11"?

I'm assuming we won't see another "Kart" or "Smash" title this generation, as those games are typically one-offs each gen.

I think the most likely ones are probably Pikmin 4 and Mario Party 11, if anything.

Maybe Lego City Undercover 2.

We'll probably see a squeal to Zelda U that uses the same assets like Majora's Mask because the game is taking a lot of time and recourses to produce.

Hardly, Pikmin 4 or Super Mario 3D World 2 probably have best chances but again very slim.

Nintendo should have bought the rights of ZombieU after Ubisoft lost interest on the system. It sold well, it used the gamepad and ut had space for growth. Hell, they could buy it for cheap now, that IP is pretty much useless outside of the WiiU. Another Zombie U (ZombieUtoo, where you play as the zombie too?) would have been interesting.

Also, I'm sure if Nintendo is thinking about sequels, they will make 3DS titles for WiiU (Kid Ikarus Uprising 2, Luigi's Mansion3, Tomodachi World...)

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Frankly, I'd love to see either a "Wonderful 102" or "Bayonetta 3", but I'm not sure we'd get those even if the Wii U was viable for another five years. If Nintendo has moved on from the Wii U by Christmas 2017 we may not see a single Nintendo published follow-up.

Probably not. The U won't last much longer.

Though I think Pikmin 4 is the most likely since I can vaguely remember Shiggy wanting to have more Pikmin games someday. Though I'm 95% sure it won't happen.

This is sequel that I would most like to see.

Can't see why they can't smash out a smw3d2 now all the hard works done and just add apart from new worlds online play and dlc.

Pikmin 4 or Mario Party 11
