Forums - Gaming Discussion - I just went on an indie game shopping spree!

So I was organizing my Wii U games library, when I realized that I ownly owned three indie games - Trine 2, which I didn't care for, and Little Inferno, which was merely neat, and Mighty Switch Force 2, which I bought because it was on sale for $4. By contrast, I own 12 indie games on my 3DS.

It's not like I didn't see any games I was interested in either. Mostly I just thought they were overpriced. In many ways, I'm more interested in the Wii U indies. But for some reason, I never bought them. So I decided that instead of buying Smash 4, I could just use that money, about $66, to buy some indie games. If I did that, I'd literally have all but three of the "indie" games that the Wii U offers that I'm interested in.

So I bought:

Shovel Knight - $15

Guaccamelee - $15

Teslagrad - $15

Slealth Inc. 2 - $15

Ballpoint Universe - $5

The only other one is Affordable Space Adventures, just because of the gamepad features. But at $20? Not very affordable. Maybe another time. Same with Shantae and the Pirates Curse. Maybe that's better on 3DS. I also want to get Child of Light. I know it's not an indie game, but guys, it's an indie game. And when I get it, it's going in my Indie game section with all my other indie games.

So here are my questions to you:

What indie games do you have on your Wii U? In fact, go ahead and share your indie game library on your 3DS, too!

For my second question, what Wii U indie games are you looking forward to?

For me it's:

Project CARS (even though it's not really indie anymore)

90s Arcade Racer

Fast Racing Neo

Mighty No. 9

Q.U.B.E.

Bloodstained***

Ghost Song***

-----

***I'm praying these come to Wii U, but I'm fairly confident that they will.

I'm not sure I own any indie games for my Nintendo systems :S but I'd like to try Shovel Knight

I know it's not indie, but I'm currently going through Pushmo World and it's super enjoyable! I don't really have any indies on my 3DS, either. But I'm really warming up to the scene and want to get more involved in it. I just need to get an external HDD for my Wii U and I'll be set.

As for upcoming Wii U indies, I'm really anticipating Bizerta: Silent Evil, FAST Racing Neo and Yooka-Laylee.

I'm going to be completely honest here. I have basically none, because I can get them all for a tiny fraction of the price elsewhere. I do have Little Inferno because of when it went on sale for $8 or $10 (can't remember which), then later regretted it when I saw that it frequently dropped down to a couple bucks on Steam.

And I guess I'm just not too interested in the exclusives. Affordable Space Adventures look pretty cool, but again, that price is rough.

I also have Teslagrad and Guaccamelee (got them on sale), and I'm planning on getting shovel night and the shantae game. Otherwise i've just mainly downloaded old nintendo games from the eshop.

You're telling me.
You picked up a bunch of indie games.
Instead of THE game.
Wow.
Just wow.

I already have Smash 4 on 3DS. Not a big deal.

I don't get why you held off of Affordable Space Adventures when you were carelessly blowing money anyway. Most of the interesting games go on sale regularly. For example, Stealth Inc. 2 can be had for 8 Euro this week in Europe.

Going by the definition that "indie" equates digital-only games, I have Duck Tales Remastered (meh), Flowerworks HD (awful), Guacamelee (good), Child of Light (good), NES Remix 1 and 2 (both good), Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails (meh), Nano Assault Neo (meh), Shantae and the Pirate's Curse (good), Shovel Knight (decent), Toki Tori 2+ (bad), Trine 2 (meh) and Unepic (meh). Got most of them on sale, so I saved quite a bit of money (around 50 Euro).

Not really many indie games I can think of that I look forward. Perhaps Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, FAST Racing Neo, The '90s Arcade Racer and Yooka-Laylee.

Because it was $20 for a game I thought should only be $10, and I wanted to stop at around $65 before tax.

That's like saying you won't buy Bayonetta 2 because you already have the demo.

No, it's like saying I won't buy Bayonetta 2 because I already have Bayonetta 2.

For the Wii U itself I'm planning on getting Mighty No. 9. It's been a long wait and I'm pretty excited to see what Mr. Inafune can do with the spiritual successor to Mega Man. Also planning on getting Bloodstained and Yooka Laylee for other platforms.

I started to lose interest in Guacamelee! towards the end but I'll finish it sometime soon and I've really been enjoying Shovel Knight.

On 3DS, I have:

Retro City Rampage
Steam World Dig
Mighty Switch Force
Nano Assault EX
Cave Story
Gunman Clive
Aria Speed
Edge
Moon: Chronicles
Thorium Wars
Azure Striker Gunvolt
Mighty Gunvolt

and if we count other "download only" games

Dillon's Rolling Western and Sakura Samurai.
