Xbox One would have been great if the product would have delivered on the performance and integration promises it made.

720 would have been a poor name, marketing wise what would it have been followed by 1440? then xbox 2880? maybe xbox 3k...

mind you, PS4 works... xbox 3 would have been OK... xbox one would have worked for a truly defining console, both in therms of features and gaming experiences, for this you need yes neat OS features, but also specs to back up your ambitions! (btw I still think the PS4 has the better core features, at least they're better implemented, instand play even on downloaded titles, updates that do not prevent you from playing while they download, faster launching games, very responsive OS in general, pretty efficient low level APIs, great store library (indies and big budget titles alike) many promotions, etc. and no BS features/input device like Kinect... no broken promises (OK suspend play took a while to come, but it's here).

Xbox Infinity (8) is more logical here and could benefit both for marketing on windows and Xbox One divisions.
