Wii Sports was never sold. It was compulory to every Wii sold (except in Japan I think and until Wii Sports Resort was bundeled instead).

Pretty close.  South Korea is the other location is was not packed in.  And those Japanese sales are pretty damn good too.  Nearly 4 million.  No idea on South Korea but I've heard they were good considering the size of the market.

And while Wii Sports Resort was bundled, there was a period where both were bundled together.  Not sure how long that lasted.  And, of course, Wii Sports Resort was also sold stand alone everywhere by itself and as it's own little bundle with Wii Motion PLus.


4M in Japan? That's pretty good.
