Forums - Gaming Discussion - Star Wars: Battlefront Runs at 60FPS, But Resolution Unconfirmed

"No one said anything about resolution," an Electronic Arts community manager said on Reddit in response to a fan who mentioned 720p and 900p in a post. "If you have heard anything otherwise, it's a rumor. We have only confirmed the game will run at 60fps."

Battlefront is in development for PCXbox One, andPlayStation 4. The game is not coming to last-generation consoles, while there has been no mention of a release for Wii U.

EA has kept busy answering questions about Battlefront on Reddit. Below are some of the company's other responses to hot topics. Battlefront launches November 17 across all platforms.

PC Requirements:

"With the Frostbite engine and the inclusion of full PBR, the game isn't just like Battlefield Hardline orBattlefield 4. Once the team has the game into its Beta phase, they can start testing the game on 100s if not thousands of PC systems and find the minimum spec required to run the game. It might end up being the same as Battlefield Hardline or even Battlefield 4. But until those tests can take place, we can't commit to specs / details. Being a fairly hardcore PC gamer, I want to know the specs as well. But... my PC is powerful, so not worried. But I know you guys are and want to get you that info as soon as we can." [Source]

Ewoks:

"Ewoks are 100% on Endor." [Source]

Maps:

"It's 12 multiplayer maps total and even more locations among the planets for Star Wars BattlefrontMissions. We have not confirmed the precise count per planet. The maps will offer a nice mix of locations and environments. Stay tuned as we reveal new maps, modes, etc. in the months ahead." [Source]

"Fairly sure we never said 'three maps per planet.' I know we said 12 multiplayer maps with even more if you include Missions." [Source]

Will be interesting to see, I really hope they don't goof the launch some how

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

"But Resolution Unconfirmed"
...Ok, will be at 720p. (max 900)

Probably 900p for consoles then.

Eh I really wish they would give us a 30fps option, I've been playing games at 30fps forever, I'm not missing out. 60fps games usually look like dog shit compared to 30fps games.

12 maps still leaves me diappointed as all hell and hearing this early on that it will be 60fps makes it sound skeptical, we're supposed to be getting 60fps anyway, the fact they have to keep telling us this sounds like there are issues going on in the background.

Calling an inb4 now for later when we find the PC specs are overblown and require the latest i7's rather than just 2-3rd gen i5's which have so far been good enough to run most games.

Also for a competitive shooter like this: 60fps>30fps anyday for me.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

I bet it'll be like BF4 and run at 720p on XBO and 900p on PS4.

12 maps is more than fine for the first shooter in a franchise. (Yes, it's technically speaking a new franchise because EA doesn't exactly have any code from the previous BF games to work with, especially not on 8th Gen platforms.) I would've loved having a bunch more, yes, but having 14-15 maps at $60 within a month of launch is pretty much what we've come to expect with modern shooters.

As for the 60fps part, it sounds like they're defending it and continuing to hammer these points in because the old guard of BF fans are just slamming this game constantly and dehyping the game for some people. Like shit, yeah guys, EA is bad, but some of the BFII fanatics are just screaming bloody murder at every announcement. I loved BFII as much as the next guy but god forbid space battles are in the sequel because it's too expensive to make 12 different maps on the current consoles as it is. It's almost like everybody forgot that we're a games INDUSTRY, and that money is more important than making the minority's wishes come true immediately.

Sorry, that last bit isn't on you. I'm just getting tired of the damn BF fanbase being stupid.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!
