I'm curious then to what last generation game you consider to be a master-piece or "game of the generation"?

GotG right here:

CoD 4 was a great game. Definitely the best out of all the Call of Duty games, but for some reason MW2 gets all the praise. I don't really like giving games the title of GotG but if I had to pick CoD4 would definitely be in the running along with TLOU.

Yeah, I'm not really going off of quality as much as impact: Modern Warfare's impact previous gen cannot be denied. It's still felt today.

And I've never played CoD4 but from what I hear, it was received very well by fans (yourself included) and critics so that contributed to my belief that it is "Game of the Generation".

Not only is it a masterpiece, but it is the greatest game that i have played and easily the best game of last generation, even topping the great Uncharted 2.I have stated countess times on other forums why I feel that way so I am not going to waste my time going into much detail.

I will just say this TLoU does not have to do anyone thing great or new as no game has done that in a long time, but it does every thing right. So if your criticism is just the fact that it is similar to other games or whatever, then you miss what makes a game great entirely.Design wise, characters, game play, controls and set pieces all come together to make a very well balanced and polished gaming experiences like nothing before it.

Basically,TLoU just like MGS and FF7 at one point has transcended video games as a media the likes of which no game has done before it.I have been completely immersed into everything about the game and the sound -which is often over looked in games- is the best I have heard at the time too.TLoU is more than simply a video game.

The problem with games like COD4 is that they are interchangable and outdated when the next installment releases.COD is just a fad game and something else will replace it as the go to onlne franchise, where as a game like TLoU is timeless just like MGS3,Ocarina of Time and Ico.TLoU will still be a game worth playing in 20 years and notice how people are still playing it now on the PS4.If COD4 was ported no one would care, because the new COD games are better with the same experience. TLoU will always be worth playing due to the single player campaign.Personally I don't see how anyone can consider any COD such a great game. It's just a basic online shooter with nothing that stands out and is generic.I would rather play Halo and Resistance, because they are more creative weapon wise and sc-fi is better than boring regular war shooters.
