So, all the gamers with high end PCs opt out and the mid and low range gamers don't?

If the opt out percentage is equal across all types then the overall sample is still valid.

Did I say all?.

my mind is blown, just completely blown how you think Steam HWS = every PC gamer in existence peroid.

I'm done, if you are the know all to be all then by all means you come in every time and make sure to put a bullet between anyone who says different, I'm just flat on done.

Then what are you saying? Are actually saying that the majority of people actually game on $800+ rigs? At least give a percentage then. Cuz what he keeps saying is that the mayority is mid range rigs. No matter how you put it, when this thig comes out, not a lot of people will have the required specs to use one of this. Also a lot of poeple wont want to just jump in out of excitement cuz this will be at least $600+ by next year, pluss the $250+ of the oculous rift itself. Do you really think this will set the world on fire?

It's looking like PM will have the upper hand in this war, everything bundled in one box. Going to be hard to beat that.

That just doesn't add up though, how is PM going to be on the exact same level as OR?, if it were exactly pin point the same as OR in every way int erms of software/hardware/performance then this whole £800+ is bat shit insane, like stop the rpesses lets completely just abandon ship insane.

I honestly don't think it;s going to be the same between the two, no way is Sony going to make something so magically cheaper and god like pwoerfull without losing in some dept whether it be hardware/performance/cost, the price of OR specs+hardware is going to have a better output somewhere rather than just nothing, that's not how it works.

Dosent have to be, it will be at most half price to jump in with more games and an already large install base of PS4's that can just buy it and plug it and play it.

People interested in Rift already has a system like that. Those are not insane specs. Also Rift will launch next year, so the prices will get even lower.

well if they realy need 3,5gb+0,5 gb, it shouldnt get a lot cheaper, the cards get stronger every gen, but next gen will not see a lot of cheap 4gb cards

With the launch of new AMD cards the price of a 970 will definitely fall. Plus 290/290x can be found quite cheap already. 290x will probably be sub 200$ by the time Rift launches.

Lets hope so.  but i dont think we will see the 380 (aka 290x) so cheap.

i won't be able to run OR. i'm not really sold on VR at all but PM is the only version i'd even consider. i'd never buy an $800 computer just for the opportunity to buy an expensive periphial i doubt i'll care for.

a 800$ gaming PC makes a lot of fun even without VR^^

a $400 console makes twice the fun at half the cost and four times the convience.   not exactly bashing pc here but i hate the platform compared to console.

pc is cheaper, you can play more genres, like rts or fps,  you can mod games, you can stream games every screen in the house without problems.

Not cheaper, specialy for what the master race brags with. Not even building something that can handle the same as a ps4 is cheaper. All the ps4 resourses are meant for gaming, while a pc will never be just a gaming machine, no matter if you use it as such.

It does have more games. Gets them really late sometimes, like 2 years after gta 5 and a hundred diferent petitions. Cant beat over 30 years of backwards compatabiliity. One of my favorite games is still diablo 2 wich I still play.

Moding a game is something you do after you are bored of the game. Not something everyone is interested in. A good game does not need to be moded.

Stream can be done with consoles too. Not that we would need to anyways since its  usualy pluged to the big scream to begin with.

STill much more convinient to have a console. No worries that it will be outdated gpu or cpu or need more ram. Any game I buy in 3-4 years in the future will still work without any need to upgrade as long as it releases for the console.

Also not bashing PC here, jsut tired of hearing this pc vs console crap, they are both good and have advantages over the other.

I hope they didn't nerf the Rift just so it can function with specs like those. Ah, well. I'm looking forward to trying it.
