Forums - Sales Discussion - Prediction: PS Vita > WII U Total Lifetime Sales ( worldwide )

I think in the end the Vita will beat the Wii U, either from the Wii U never passing it, or the Vita beating it out of longevity.

^ this but its going to be close.

At the rates both of these are selling.

Id also like to add:

Wii U is overtracked by like 300k or something on vgchartz.

And supposedly the Vita is undertracked.

Which could mean the Wii U never overtakes the Vita (the gap is bigger than 800,000+ that VGchartz shows).

Around the Network

No matter which will end up selling more, it will be a statistical tie IMO. Its just sad that the Vita still manages to hold ground against the WiiU, even tough the WiiU is actually supported by Nintendo.

I have to confess, I love the Vita, but every time I look at the machine I cannot pretend that it is not the most criminally undersupported system that was ever released

Lol calm down dear!:P

When you have wii u selling 200k in the USA in black friday and ps vita 70-80k globally in that week, you know how easy is for wii u to pass psvita...

Pffff, unfortunately holidays are away,so will keep getting this irrational thing till the start of the holidays, the psv vs wii u,is  the new xb1 vs wii u...

P.s still wii u hasn't got a price drop,as for psvita,many fire sales,big price cut of the ps vita tv,shop deals e.t.c...

Also it faces a severe decline in Japan, where the 80-90% of its sales come from!Furthermore, will we ever learn the psvita  exact sales, does sony has the guts to inform us about it?

P.s Mrplaystation I appreciate that you put your opinion positively and without conceit...;)

Nah VGCchartz numbers arent correct, i heard Wii U numbers just came over 10 million.

Where have you heard that? Not from Nintendo.

They haven't even shipped 10 million units yet to retailers... or it would be very strange if they ship more than 460k units in 1.5 months (April + half of May) when they only shipped 340k units in the 3 months before.

I also haven't have heard of Wii U shortages which would indicate that most shipped WiiUs are also sold to customers.

I saw on many sites it already just shipped 10 million units worldwide, happened like 1 week ago, from that article

And yet...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_Vita_games

" As of 16th May 2015, there are 997 total games on this list. " - wiki

https://www.playstation.com/en-us/explore/psvita/games/

"The PS Vita system features more than 1,000 PlayStation titles, including PS Vita narrative adventures, high-rated indie games, and exclusive JRPGS, and PS one®, and PSP® system classics."

I like it, I think its underrated by many. It has alot of Jrpgs on it.

Wii U and Vita aren't too different in price now.

No price drops? Which country? It's had an official price drop pretty much everywhere.

In the UK the 8gb model launched at £249.99 and the Premium £299.99

You can now get the 8gb Model for about £150 while the premium is frequently closer to £200 (£210 with Mario Kart 8).

Vita launched at £224.99 and is about £140 solus for the slim model or £180 with a memory card and download voucher.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Possible.

The only thing we know for sure is that Wii U will overtake Vita this holiday. Vita could easily reclaim it in the long run with it likely to have a longer life in Japan then Wii U will have worldwide.

Totally agree and it is one of the main reason I still play it.

But man, I wish it would have had more western and Sony 1st party AAA support
