No. Even GTA could not dethrone it, and Smash Brothers only got half of its sells. Mario Kart Wii is truly a beast. To dethrone it, maybe Minecraft would need to go Super Saiyan.

Take-Two isn't going to stop releasing Grand Theft Auto on XBoxes after selling 15 million copies of GTAV on 360 and 2 million+ more on XBox One. Even if more copies sell on PlayStation consoles, they'd still be throwing away millions of sales. Not going to happen. Besides, most people are going to either own a PS4, or an XBox One, not both. So going exclusive would more likely limit GTAVI's sales, not expand them.
To answer OP, no, a PS4 exclusive will not sell more than Mario Kart Wii.
I don't even think this 35 millions will ever be reached again by a home console game without big time heavy bundling the game.

The same way you know that "People buy a ps4/Xbox for all type of games so only a small percent buy each game" and that " if mk went multi plat it wouldn't sell millions on PlayStation". :D
Actually I change my vote. Sony can pull this off if they realize something important. That the PS4 is the New Wii and they have the casual gamer in their corner. Sony needs to fly off the handle and make a casual game that will nab the casual gamer. After the Me Too gamers latch onto it I bet that it can break 15 million. Maybe Morpheus is involved. Maybe not. Either way Sony has that audience and if they find a way to harness this, they can do this.

You're making excuses but not giving reasons. Why wouldn't they ship it for years? MK Wii wasn't a special case because of motion controls, it was a special case because it kept selling and selling and selling. If Sony had the same circumstance they would most certainly do the same thing, it would be absurd not to. If it's not hard to do what Nintendo did, then why hasn't any other game surpassed it?
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

It should also be noted that the game sold 20 million units prior to being bundled and few people bought the game for the motion controls. |
Exactly.

Casuals have left the home console building.
Oh, and 40 of you now. |
I'm not so sure. There has been plenty of people who bought it because its supposed to be the next big thing. I can't believe that all 20 million are hardcore gamers. The early advertising blitz did sell lots of consoles to people who didn't really know what it was about. Not only that Morpheus has been kinda big and has been featured in late night talkshows. I think that if Sony makes something incredible with it.... it COULD happen. But Sony will have to make one hell of a game that everyone can enjoy.

So you think the people that bought a Wii for bowling and Wii Fit are also buying a PS4 and potentially Morpheus? |
There are casual gamers who bought it because its supposed to be the next big thing. Sony themselves said they are targeting the former Wii audience and want to capture that crowd, and it does appear to be working.
There is a big shift of PS4 owners who used to own a Wii. Not to mention the reasons people bought a PS4 were the focus of the advertising. Graphics, processing power, family wants it etc. It might not be as much as Nintendo nabbed with the Wii, but there are casual customers on board with PS4. Sony just needs to harness this base with the right game/peripheral. I'm betting its Morpheus.
