The possibility of Oculus on consoles might not seem too high to you, given how Sony and Microsoft are both working on their own, similar products, but according to Oculus VR vice president Nate Mitchell, at the very least, one shouldn’t be so quick to jump to conclusions.

“We have,” Mitchell replied during the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in New York, when asked if Oculus VR had spoken with Microsoft and Sony.

“We’ve talked to everyone. There’s a lot of people right now interested in the VR space. And we’ve said many times that we’re interested in bringing the Rift to as many consoles or platforms as possible. Ultimately, we haven’t announced any sort of partnerships to date. But it’s something we’re always exploring.”

I hope it can be used with the consoles. I don't plan on buying multiple headsets. And the Rift will most likely be the one I buy.

I feel like we've been hearing about the Oculus Rift for years, and yet it hasn't even made it to the consumer market yet.

I highly doubt we'll ever see it being used with the PS4/XBO.

I think I will rule it out; I will go quite far out of my way to avoid products headed by Facebook.

I will wait to see both of them, Tiny diffence could be the changer, like when you choose a phoe or a tablet

I think it will be cross compatible on ps4. Its a mutually beneficial situation, having Morpheus and Occulus being cross compatible. Id think it would be stupid of Sony not to, honestly; the tech is still too young to be pushing proprietary hardware. Me thinks an open platform will have wider support across devs AND gamers.

It's very unlikely oculus will be a better experience on ps4 than morpheus, which has been built from the ground up with the console in mind. However Morpheus better have PC support otherwise Oculus is the clear choice if it's compatible with both. PC will have much better VR support than consoles too so it's vital morpheus can be used on both console and pc.

yea I think it would be really good if you could use both the Rift and Morpheus on PS4, but I doubt a bit that it will work  ..

afaik the Morpheus comes with an external connector box that also handles the "asynchronous timewarp" (60fps -> 120Hz by adjusting the image with tracking vectors and showing it again), so on the Rift 60fps games might not be displayed in 90+Hz (I think they have yet to announce a refreshrate for the CV1), but according to the experts 60Hz VR is much more prone to make people feel dizzy

additionally the PS4 won't be able to render at the resolution the rift is designed for and showing images in a non-native res on lcds/oleds makes the image appear pretty soft/blurry without expensive scaling hw (and scaling uses up processing time)

Interesting. I will definitely get the Rift. Would be nice if I didn't have to buy a Morpheus. But I kinda doubt OR will be cross compatible with Morpheus games.
