It's even worse if you're a mobile gamer. People here are ridiculous and it's a big part of why I don't post here much anymore.

There's always Soundwave =P, but yeah I get what you mean, for a time I thought "it's just me, things will get better with time" and they didn't, for every good news there is for PC it;s downed by this type and this kind gets more focus, then there's good news for Xbox or Wii U and then 5 bad news articles follow, you get the picture. I don't think people like you and I should have th post less, really those being agressive need to wise up and realise that they put people off from joining in or wanting to dicuss, usually positive topics normally have good and legnthy dicussions, instead some people ride on that good news and decide it's better to drag others down which is what's been happening in here.

There are definitely some good and interesting people on this site but imo it's slowly not becoming worth it to interacting outside main threads as much anymore since the same acts keep happening over and over and I just don't want to come home from work and see this kind happening, it just isn't worth it.

As much as people here downplay it, I frequent Gaf now.

They actually have tons of active mobile threads rather than what we have here, which is where a mobile game gets announced and the threads devolve into smack talk from elitist gamers who think their way is the best way and mobile gaming is like a plague out to kill the industry.

Its very difficult to find real game discussion around here. It's more of "Hey, let's find something to bitch about."

Anyways this is getting way off topic.

The sheer amount of ignorance and toxicity in this thread towards PC gaming and gamers in general.

It's a shame, but the PC comunity is extremely toxic in itself with the "i'm leet and own a better machine than you" attitude. Owning one machine is stupid, because you devoid yourself of amazing experiences.

That is not exactly unique to the PC community.

True, unless we are talking about League of Legends.

Good luck trying to play that game as a newbie, lol. They are mean!

It's all about ethics. I have nothing against dlc, but i hate when they are annouced before the game release. The Old Blood, First Light, Left Behind are good dlc, and i don't mind paying for them. 16 free ''dlc's'' is a stupid idea too. These days the way it is handled often is, to just drops random stuff into the game which changes the pacing and flow of the game. It often ruins the original tightly designed and well tested flow of the game even if the DLC is good content. This is why i only appreciate stand-alone expansions.

So you prefer devs just not announce preplanned DLC (which most DLC is pre-planned before the game's actual release) and wait until after a game is released? Yeah that sounds real ethical.

You realize you are tacitly advocating that developers hold back information on their business practices in order to deceive their customers right? Ethics dictates that they do exactly what they are doing. They are being upfront about their DLC/season pass AND they are making the game available without DRM nor are they trying to hunt down pirates etc. I'd say these guys are the epitomy of ethical.

I bought the game and the season pass. I never buy season passes and rarely do I even buy dlc content (unless its in a GOTY package pr something) because I like thier games and I support their business practices.

just some more time and most aaa-games on pc might die completly. Pc sales are already super low, i wouldnt be surprised if more and more games will get console exclusive.

Sorry for all legal pc gamers out there, but u are definitive the minority.

Except the opposite is happening. More and more titles are becoming multiplat and releasing on PC. The few developers who don't release on PC are usually japanese, which historically lacks a PC game culture, and even that is changing these days.  Not to mention revenues are fairly healthy on digital distribution platforms, you must be thinking physical sales.

This is why you should delay the PC version of any game.

Or even delete the pc version .

Joke. But i can't stand pirates.

LOL priates gonna pirate not everyone has enough money to buy 60$ games, CD project not coming from a first world country should be more understanble here. Also many people want to pirate the game in order to freely mod it to fix the downgrades.
Not defending piracy here just telling the reality of the situation, i dont understand what CD project is excepting tough.

This great attitude of not using pirates as an excuse to annoy legit users with pesky DRMs (that won't stop pirates anyway) is, besides obviously making great games, another good reason why not only I don't pirate their games (I buy legal copies also of the other games, although I've sometimes been forced to play pirated copies of games I already legally bought because the regular copy's DRM was doing a bloody mess on my PC) but I'm also ready to buy them at higher prices than others if I got the money, I bought TW1 and 2 as soon as they released the Enhanced Editions, still full-priced and with just that 10-15% discount MediaWorld does on most games when still full-priced.

I haven't pirated a single PC game in years, I think they last time I did might have been in 2008 or around there. CDProjekt are amazing developers and proper good guys of the industry, but this has been largely ignored for the past week in the wake of the visual downgrade that everyone was whining about.

I hope the vast majority of Witcher fans aren't power whores. Many years ago I was mad at MS (it worsened the situation cutting to 64MB the initially planned 128MB main RAM) for multiplat games like Morrowind and Thief III, downgraded also in ways that affected gameplay to fit in XBox limitations, but I think I can forgive a lot more easily some small and purely graphic downgrades due to XBOne, that's probably quite more powerful than my current PC (I'll beat it and PS4 by a not excessive margin with my next upgrade, next year).
