When I first saw it I thought the purple mini-turbo would be an insignificant addition to MK8D, but it's actually pretty nice. Doesn't change the game in any major way, but I like how it adds a new layer of learning to the tracks, namely where n when you can go for the purple sparks. Also it seems like an indirect buff to inside drift as I find I can get purple sparks more often than with outside drift, but maybe that's just me and my wishful thinking.

I chalk it up to how inside drift can't hug corners on sharp turns as well as outside drift, thus they spend more time drifting, and how inside can hold a drift on straightaways after coming out of a turn better.

Oh I forgot about the hidden mini-turbo stat which I believe increases mini turbo charge speed. Perhaps this stat will actually be relevant now, but we don't have the hidden stats for vehichle parts yet, though it's safe to assume the inside drift bikes still increase it.
