If this gen has shown us anything, it's that people don't want originality. They want the same game they played last year with shinier graphics.

We are not talking about what the people want though, but what the critics want or value more, and there´s plenty of original games that were praised because its innovations in recent history, what people want is another story, but this time, I think critics and people are going to agree.

I just don't think the game's creativity is going to be enough to counteract its lack of voice chat or its single online mode at launch in the eyes of critics, that's all.

Personally, I'm getting it for the campaign, so as long as that's complete at launch, I'm good to go.

Critics have splat zones unlocked and voice chat is not the reason you take 10 points down, and this games needs 0 voice chat in turf mode at least, is too quick and chaotic.

Critics apparently have access to Splatzones already.

And we know how Tower Control will work already, they showed off everything there's to it. Simple but ingenious concept. I wonder when Rainmaker will launch and what it will be. Something to do with water?

I honestly wouldn't score a game down because of lack of voice chat, especially not a wacky game like Splatoon.

I agree, but I doubt critics will.

But they know we don't, so they'll assess it as such.

That would be dumb.

Doesn't mean they won't do it.

They had no problem rating a broken unfinished game like AC: U a 72% average on metacritic.

Reviewers don't even seem to dock points for games being buggy messes anymore, it's like they've just accepted it as normal. (Which sadly, it pretty much is)

You are being pessimistic to not be dissapointed, that´s fine. But I have the feeling that the scores are going to impress you. The same way I had the feeling that Splatoon was going to be huge since the first time I saw it, it´s soon to speak but... it feels like is already happening.
