Forums - Gaming Discussion - Splatoon... could be great. Motion controls are terrible, Nintendo online shenanigans etc

lol you can turn off the motion controls you know. I got in and had no issues whatsoever.

Fuuu, the 2nd hour is just over, will try in the evening then.

How does it work? Hoping they get Pro controller support in there.

I doubt that's the same online experience you'll have once the games been out a day or two. Can't expect too much from a demo.

My real question is why turn off the motion controls? I've been getting first place almost every time. Splattershot Jr is the king. That and being able to switch between squid and humanoid form. After you get used to it, it feels so much better than the analog stick. You get way better control.

The camera just doesn't move the way I want it to go, and it gives me a hard time turning around corners etc.

Motion controls are maddening.

I had no problems connecting, and you can turn off the motion controls.

Spreading false negativity all around.

You can turn the gyro controls OFF, and btw, I think they are awesome.

I had 0 problems with the game, everything worked perfectly.

Don´t worry about it.

Exactly, but do you think they will change the matchmaking? I think not. Another beta I just played was Rocket League and it had the kind of match making you see in all online games. You're in a pool with other people until it's full and you don't get kicked out every few seconds.

I'm sure there is for Dojo and stuff, but I'm thinking that for the online you will need the gamepad. Its how you teleport to your allies and the map lets you see where your enemies are. Not the enemies themselves, but the paint. I couldn't do without it.

The right stick is always used for turning, motion controls or no.

This is f**king hilarious.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Even if you turn it off? Then what's the point of turning it off? The way I played it is the stick is super slow while motion is super fast.
