All I want is:

1. A true account system in which purchases are tied to your account not the H/W
2. Cross platform purchases where possible... ESPECIALLY Virtual Console.

This isn't the case already? So if I buy Super Metroid on the Wii, I wouldn't have access to it on the WiiU?

This seems like it could be a really huge thing for Nintendo. It sounds like Spemanig's predictions about their new membership service could be going into motion soon.

When this news came out, I knew you were out there somewhere, grinning in glee over this... ; )

Now hurry up and announce achievements for it so I can get excited!

Nintendo isn't about achievements. They want people to enjoy their games, not obsess over achievements. I play a lot of pc games and all those steam achievements mean nothing to me. Oh you played 10 hours of the game? Achievement! Oh your won a battle? Achievement! There are too many games with too many useless achievements that mean nothing. Thankful that Nintendo doesn't do it. Rankings like tropical freeze is good stuff though.

Achievements are more like challenges. Achievements are awesome. Increases your play time. I want it on Nintendo platforms. If you don't like it then just keep ignoring them if they do come to Nintendo systems.

I'm thinking 3DS and Wii U intergration. Why do we have to by Legend of Zelda of Mega Man 2 for NES twice. That should be one purchase imo.

It should also apply to new games such as Shovel Knight.

This will revolutionize the industry.

And some people enjoy games more because of achievements. Right now for me Nintendo games are less fun than other games simply because they don't have any. For people like you that don't want any, well you can just ignore them. Other people enjoying extras added to games in no way affects your enjoyment of the game so you have no reason to complain about them.

Exactly. You can disable trophy /achievement notifications if you don't care for them, so essentially it's like there not there. Win-win really for both sides.

Catching up won't revolutionalize the industry. I'm really happy about this though.I added a game to my Steam wishlist on PC and got a notification on my phone months later that the game was on sale. The sale only lasted for a day but I was able to buy the game. I need this kind of advantage on Nintendo's platforms. There are 2 Wiis, 3 3DSes and 1 Wii U in my house. Unified accounts will go  long way for people like me.

And I don't care about achievements, I already ignore trophies on my PS3, so if Nintendo adds something similar, unless I can claim rewards with them, I'll ignore them too.

It's pretty awful that Nintendo has tied purchases to consoles, and still hasn't created an account system yet. Nintendo needs to catch up.

Sounds like unified account system to me which would be cool
