Now hurry up and announce achievements for it so I can get excited!

Nintendo isn't about achievements. They want people to enjoy their games, not obsess over achievements. I play a lot of pc games and all those steam achievements mean nothing to me. Oh you played 10 hours of the game? Achievement! Oh your won a battle? Achievement! There are too many games with too many useless achievements that mean nothing. Thankful that Nintendo doesn't do it. Rankings like tropical freeze is good stuff though.

OH! so it does look like its coming much closer than expected it to be. WHich is a good thing, cause i believe Club Nintendo shuts down at the end of September? Sooo, releasing this before the holidays is pretty good timing.

That's not exactly new information, although I guess that the people who had hoped for a paid subscription can let that dream go now.

Who would ever hope for that...? o_O

For some people, a trophy/achievement system adds value to the gaming experience. If you give players the ability to turn it off, there is no downside to including a trophy/achievement system.

All I want is:

1. A true account system in which purchases are tied to your account not the H/W
2. Cross platform purchases where possible... ESPECIALLY Virtual Console.

This seems like it could be a really huge thing for Nintendo. It sounds like Spemanig's predictions about their new membership service could be going into motion soon.

we will see. i really hope they consider the items you have mentioned. i'm sure they would have done it since they wanted a unified account system.

This isn't the case already? So if I buy Super Metroid on the Wii, I wouldn't have access to it on the WiiU?

man i hope this shit launches soon...i am quite annoyed that purchases are still tied to the system and not my account and i cannot purchases games for my wii u on my pc or phone while at work like i can with my ps4
