Milking would mean the games would decline in quality...

not on my watch. my definition of milking is soely based on the releasefrequency and timeframe. it's mainly because imso no amount of productionquality and effort could even save my favorite franchise from growing tired on me at some point. nothing good lasts forever.

You wouldn't happen to be a Final Fantasy fan then would you?

from all the games you've listed ff is the only series i'm still interested in. lost interest in sonic after sonic 1-3, cd and adventure 1 and 2, castlevania after STON and metal gear after 1, 2 and 4. all the other games i was never interested to begin with. now the reason why ff is still interesting to me is a) because jrpgs are my favorite genre and b) aside from a few exceptions in ff only the name the genre and minor gimmicky stuff (chocobos, cid, ...) gets reused. so, what do you want to tell me?

That pretty much every developer prioritize their most popular franchises maybe?

Pls tell me what franchises are milked other than pokemon? If your going to say anything Mario, pls be specific as Just the Name is milked, not its franchises....

Haha days with no replies just means few agree with you. Nobody is saying they are a bad (Publisher, not developer), but when you got Naughty Dog and Rock Star making 10/10 after 10/10 its hard to say they aren't in the running.

And there are other amazing developers too besides those as well...

Nintendo EAD? Retro Studios? :0

But it also proves that nintendo is greedy.

Yes, we need tons of blockbuster stuff with 200m $ of budget, so that way we can use 2000 workers without comunication to do a shit that would not be profitable if it sells under 6 millions, and if we fail, well, let´s fire 1500 workers and do something more smart, like a good game.

Still they havent made any mature series in 35 years they were in bussines. Ever since they reached gamecube level they should have made an own AAA ip or something. It explains their design choices now that metroid is not releasing and zelda has cel shading graphics again, its to save money it seems to me.

Story, atmosphere and music. Although Nintendo has great music, SE takes that title very easily, even now without Nobou Uematsu.

Yes, and Ghibli makes 2D films because 3D CGI are expensive... or maybe because they like good artstyles over realistic animations that get old, outdated and ugly in 3 years.

They're the overall best, at least in my opinion. Although they could definitely improve, take more risks, etc.

Although no one comes close to the polish of their games, Square Soft/Enix's classic titles could very well be in the same level as Nintendo's finest.

Subjectivity is quite the metric by which Nintendo could or could not be the best developer of all time.

"It explains their design choices now that metroid is not releasing and zelda has cel shading graphics again, its to save money it seems to me"

Is that why they went from LoZ WW to TP? Also Because Metroid hasnt released this gen (possibly yet) means its to save money? I think your reaching now :-/
