i hope they leave the EU

Well as the article states, it won't be good for the UK. European countries would suffer too. So I think it would be best that everyone works together towards a reform of the EU instead of the constant bitching about leaving and it being bad

No, the brits have to go. there is nothing the EU could lose from it. we could have a stable finance market without london, thats way more important than losing 5% gdp in 10 years

The other EU countries would lose from it, that's a fact.

While there are surely many other reasons, how about this one...
Currently the UK imports more from the EU than it exports. With it being EU that means there are no import taxes on any of it. In February 2015 the imports were worth £17.9b (£7b more than exports). Considering the current UK VAT rate is 20% that means if the UK wasn't an EU member those companies exporting to the UK would have to pay £3.58b in VAT for those exports, and that's just a single month. Surely you can see how not having to pay VAT/Duties for exports to the UK is good for all EU businesses and not just those in the UK itself?

EU or not doesnt matter, they will buy french food and german cars in any case. liek the US or china.

I hope at one point Britains (and French etc) will start to shit on the heads of all those EU-panic, nationalistic populist politicians.

All that boycotting bullshit would need to stop at one point. The EU needs to become more about european politics instead of focusing on economy. That is a big problem. There is no big feel of being European than either German, British, French... so far.

That said, i dont think our government is really helpful either.

As for the UK, as far as i know and see it, most actual problems are internal. Like having a nice economy growth but the majority definitely not benefiting from it.

Yeah, but my point is that now companies exporting to/importing from the UK will have to pay hefty taxes on those goods which decreases their profits.

it increases the price of the goods, but people will buy european goods anyway, you dont buy a ford just because you have to pay 30k taxes more for a mercedes or bmw. and there is not much good wine to buy outside of europe

UK is a net importer. EU would lose trade from a BREXIT.

They're using fear to try and convince fence sitters in theUK that the EU is needed far more by the UK than it actually is.

And this comes from a pro EU UK resident.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

So the UK's economy would be 0.6% smaller by 2030 but cancelling the budget paymants alone would already save them 0.5% gdp right from the start? And that's just one saving. Sound like a great deal to me if you get all your souverinity back. And other country's would be cheaper off they say?

Why exactly do you think the UK shouldn't be in the EU then?

because they are parasites, they dont pay their fair share, they protect the banks, they want EU money for a nuklearplant that will never generate any profit for anyone.

Bear in mind this is the same person that claimed being Gay was a "Mental disease", I don't expect any good dicussion to come from someone who thinks another sexuality is a disease and a country with rich important history "parasites".

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

The UK takes more than it gets? Well that's UKIPs entire argument wiped out then... oh wait... it would do if you were actually anywhere close to being right.

There's a reason the EU doesn't want the UK to leave, they know it would be detrimental the EU just as much, if not more as it likely would to the UK.

However, Germany moreso are scared of the UK leaving. Without the UK, they would be the solitary centre right presence in the bloc and would have to succumb to the increased spending demands of the more socialist leaning countries. Given Germany generates the most money in the block, that also means they'd be forking by far the most out to fund this.
