Considering wat system its on and its first year sales, i think 4mil is extremely well. That said 5mil wll be coming.

On instal base of 10m!? 4.3m on 10m user base is a great sale. |
@tbone51
I know, I was joking about the fact that the least successful 3d Mario game is almost a 5 million seller
We reap what we sow
Glad to see Galaxy and 64 on top. Best 3D Mario games.

How exactly 4.3m on 10m user base is disappointment!? |
I'm comparing 3D Mario sales to 3D World, so it's disappointing ...but with the 10M user base, it's understandable so that's why I have the justifier of the second part of my sentence

so, 2 million more for 3d world to not be the lowest one.
I get the sense 3D Land made an awful lot of profit. Great game n all but it was very simple.

Yeah, that's pretty interesting. :)
What I love about the 3D Mario games as a franchise is that there has been only two instances of direct sequels in terms of game design: Galaxy and Galaxy 2, Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World. Whether the latest is your favorite or not, you gotta respect Nintendo's willingness to shake things up. How many companies would go from 64 to Sunshine to Galaxy to 3D World if they had this franchise? Imagine if Ubisoft held the Mario 3D franchise. We would get a game a year and would likely have almost the exact same gameplay as 64 the whole way with only the occasional, minor, passing quirk and maybe a new environment or two to differentiate all with mass-produced level design.

I Agree.
Personally I very enjoy Mario Galaxy and it phenomenal game, but after playing I really don't have almost any desire to play Mario Galaxy 2. For me two Mario Galaxy games are more than enough and that's why I really don't want Nintendo to make Mario Galaxy 3, I want again something completely new.
